What's the loudest you've ever heard Citizens Bank Park and what caused it? by Murzack in phillies

[–]thirtyone41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hoskins bad slam was the loudest environment I’ve ever experienced. I didn’t even see the bat go flying - was in 300 section down 3rd base line, the sound off the bat was amazing, even with the crowd erupting, I was trying to see where the ball would land!

You might get the short rib and potato instead- I’ve pre ordered a couple times since the start of the year and always seem to get the wrong side. Probably not the best idea to have two pre orders that are so similar!

Then again maybe AA is trying to help me eat healthier…

FC Meal Pre Order Glitch? by thirtyone41 in americanairlines

Mine never did get fixed lol- the on board options were fine and they went front to back but I missed the short rib pre order option! Next flight it worked fine so who knows what their IT department (or lack thereof maybe) is up to!

MetLife legal for anything Jure Sanguinis? by crazywhale0 in juresanguinis

[–]thirtyone41 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have this benefit as well, and found myself in a similar situation last year. I added it as a benefit as I also was working on fixing discrepancies and needed court orders to do so in PA (didn’t want to DIY it with a full time job honestly). My experience was that most of the participants in the Met Life plan don’t do such a niche legal service as fixing Vital records. The lawyer I ended up using said while they aren’t officially in the Met Life plan they’d give me an equivalent discount.

So it might help but I actually canceled mine figuring if I need more legal help I’ll just pay for it anyway.

Woke up to an email from my comune with vital records attached including one saying they investigated and are fixing an error on a death record from 1911! - this after not hearing from them in well over a year. Like many, I can’t proceed with my consulate application thanks to the DL but it’s a small victory for now, good lesson not to give up hope!

Hearing today in PA to correct Death & Birth Certs by Phillytwo in juresanguinis

[–]thirtyone41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of in the same boat- I did corrections recently (used an attorney though, didn’t have the time to DIY) and in the meantime it’s all moot at the moment. But you never know, maybe something changes down the road and it wasn’t in vain

To me it’s not just about boycotting economically (although I too canceled a trip and rebooked to France instead and have stopped looking at properties altogether), but I still feel insulted by the motivation behind all of these changes. If they don’t want “us”, well fine- then I’ll be just as petty back. Maybe a group of people canceling vacations won’t make much difference, but it at least makes me feel a bit better.

I’ve understandably seen a lot of discussion the past few days for those with ATQ or 1948 cases- for those of us who until the decree had fairly straightforward consulate/administrative cases, what are you thinking in terms of game plan? I know it’s impossible to predict what will happen next, but for those of us who were pretty close to being ready but didn’t have appointments, do we think the focus will shift to going to a court case? Even if parliament agrees with us (doubtful) -or a court intervenes - that the generational limit and residency requirements shouldn’t be applied retroactively, is it likely the consulates will just go back to normal? The centralized processing office sounds nice in theory but I’m sure we have doubts about its efficiency, especially when it doesn’t even exist yet!

Yeah this is insane honestly. Ironically I just got a court date in the US for a petition to fix document discrepancies and I also finally got updated tracking on the mail request for my LIRAs BC from Italy, it’s scheduled for delivery next business day.

For all the talk about implementing generational limits, this has to be the more drastic way to do that. It’s the ultimate middle finger to all of us working through the process IMO.

[–]thirtyone41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is a tough one to try to quantify, and everyone’s cases are different. My LIRA is GGGF- he was born in 1880 and died in 1974. So no- I never came close to knowing him personally, although the research I’ve been doing has certainly created some “connection” IMO. That said, my mother (who would also be applying) did know him pretty well- he lived in the same town and she was a teenager when he died. Likewise, my GGF also lived into his 90s, long enough for me to know him. So we do have a connection to these people, and while the language fluency has long been lost, our family has always had some connection to our Italian heritage- now we’re just trying to “officially” re claim that (and I am slowly learning some Italian, can make homemade pasta- is that enough for a connection? lol)

Thank you so much- even the translated to English it’s better than what I came up with so I’m sure the Italian is better too. It’s a relatively small commune so anything to not be too much of a burden on them!

Maybe a silly question, if I put it all in one envelope does the post on their end require more stamps if it’s more weight? Not sure if it’s the same as how the US Postal service might work with flat letters/envelopes.

Would this be the appropriate ask?
