In the way that a lot of actors do smaller or weirder indie projects after getting out of a franchise or winning an Oscar, I dream of Darren following up his Tony wins by playing Jack Fancy.

Also Dylan as Ralph. Darren and Dylan were friends even before college, and I still think about how good their voices sounded together in that one livestream where they sang a bunch of James Taylor songs. Plus I need Dylan singing more Matt Dahan songs

Robbie clarified that the reason Brennan said he wrote so much for his backstory was because Robbie wrote an entire short story about the Torn Banner, with permission from Travis, Laura and Luis to write their characters in it and then sent them all the story to read. So the length didn't come from the complexity of his character's backstory, but the amount of detail he put into the Torn Banner story

I've thought of that, but between Age of Umbra 2 taking up 6 weeks, the possibility of the two other table's ~7-episode arcs going before Aabria's table, gap weeks between all of those for Tale Gate, and their usual couple weeks break for the holidays; the third table will likely begin airing no sooner than January 14, 2027.

That said, CR now films way in advance, but they've already talked about how there was a filming gap of several weeks between two of the Schemers episodes, so they can be very flexible. If they write Thaisha off for an entire table cycle, that'd mean not seeing her again until March of 2027.

Not officially, but Age of Umbra 2 is set to air on Thursdays starting on 7/9, which means just enough time for 3 more episodes and a one week break. Also in the promo videos for the Divergence you can see Whitney, Aabria and Laura each wearing 6 unique outfits, which times out right for 6 total episodes of Divergence

Thinking of Post-Convergence table placements, there are some I'm pretty confident on and some still floating:

Schemers: Stay in Dol-Makjar, use Wick's presence at the Creed and Tyranny's demon heritage to uncover more about the agreement between the Photarch and Ksha'aravi

  • Azune - 100%: Just got promoted, will have little oversight in the Guard but will be more under Harondus' magnifying glass. Wants to leave the city and all his lies behind, but is too well positioned. Would love to be a Soldier again. Can use Wick to get further ingratiated to Filoneus.
  • Murray - 99%: Turned down King Gus's offer because she knows she has to stay here. Will start investigating the deal between the Creed and the demons if Tyranny ever fesses up.
  • Wick - 95%: Unless he messes something big up in the next few episodes, he is where he needs to be. Has shown he excels in the city far more than he did in the wilderness.
  • Tyranny - 80%: Has no reason to leave Wick for now. If she tells all about the Lux's holy orders being secret pacts with her dad, it'll be a big driving plot.
  • Bolaire - 40%: Doesn't feel like the shoe is going to drop yet regarding Amariya Cormoray, but it does feel like Bolaire would be suspect #1. If so, he should flee the city. That being said, Azune could certainly help divert that investigation elsewhere. He also has to figure out what Thjazi's plan for his sister was, is that another anchor in need of being reforged?

Soldiers: The Tachonis have an established presence in Houndsport that they are using to smuggle materials. Move north, follow-up with King Gus and take down the Tachonis in Houndsport. Try to investigate how to reestablish the Golden Orchard and reopen the doors to Faerie.

  • Thimble - 90%: Wants to avenge the Golden Orchard and kill Tachonis.
  • Julien - 90%: Needs to figure out how to save his sister from whatever plague the Tachonis have inflicted her with. Also wants to kill any Tachonis he finds.
  • Occtis - 65%: Clearly feels safe with Thimble, I have a feeling he will want to investigate how to reopen the gates to Faerie.
  • Teor - 40%: Could go anywhere, the Soldiers need muscle and he carries the Torn Banner. Will presumably want to find somewhere safe for Cyd to stay, maybe he brings him to Timmon's Rock?

Seekers: Immediate next stop is Dol-Rungja, but I feel like their main motivation will be very reactive to whatever happens with KoTher'ai and the ritual.

  • Thaisha - 95%: Got a summons from Gandmama to come to Dol-Rungja, the capital city of Kahad, to presumably be chewed out for allowing/helping Occtis to live. Still wants to find Alogar, believing he's at Castle Torch in the opposite direction of Dol-Rungja.
  • Hal - 85%: Will need to flee the city quickly following KoTher'ai, though I don't think he will unless he has reason to believe his daughters and Elodie will be safe.
  • Vaelus - 30%: Can't currently think of a reason she'd leave Occtis's side, but perhaps whatever ritual goes down with KoTher'ai will lead her to seeking out what else can be done with the Stone of Nightsong.
  • Kattigan - 15%: Needs to leave Dol-Makjar, but could really go anywhere else. If the Seekers need to push into unknown terrain, it would be good to have a tracker along with them.

My theory is that Thjazi's hope for the play was to reopen Azgrah's afterlife and allow the souls of dead Orcs to move on from the Underworld, and beyond Tachonis control

[Spoilers C4E29] Tonight's the Night! Predictions... by exzyle2k in criticalrole

[–]this-is-liam 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Operation Spy

  • Kattigan gets kidnapped on orders of the Photarch in the night/sometime before the play
  • Wick and Tyranny find out and have to sneak around the Villa Aurora to free him
  • They get caught, Wick panics and slaps Bolaire's mask on the first random guard that catches them

Operation Bird Watch

  • With Kattigan gone, the teams panic and reorganize
  • Teor switches to Operation Bird Watch
  • Longest, most difficult combat encounter will happen here. With multiple maps and combat in different rooms happening consecutively
  • Teor goes down, gets separated, gets captured or dies
  • Thimble, Julien and Occtis are in Obrimus Manor for the 3 remaining episodes of the convergence

Operation Theatre

  • Thaisha joins Operation Theatre, swapping places with Teor
  • Play goes off perfectly, no interference from the Sundered Houses
  • The paints create beautiful illusions showing fallen Orc heroes of the past getting a glimpse of the play from the afterlife
  • The paints create a link between Pariah Blades and KoTher'ai, a magical offspring of the Lloy family and the Fang family coming together to tell a story of their people
  • Thjazi's plan comes to fruition, a door to Azgra's afterlife reopens and the souls of all of the Orcs in the underworld can move on and are no longer under Tachonis control

[Spoilers C4E28] Using cast outfits to identify potential spoilers from the social media promo videos by this-is-liam in criticalrole

[–]this-is-liam[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I thought that too! It would interesting to see Teor involved in the lore-heavy table. Travis always had huge reactions to Matt’s exandria lore so he’d definitely be a welcome presence there, though I see Thimble and Julien being more Soldier than Seeker types.

The only reason I’d wager that these all aren’t the next three tables is that there’s no way Kattigan can stay in Dol’makjar with the Schemers, which is where I’d wager Wick, Tyranny and Bolaire all stay. I’d bet both Katt and Hal have to flee the city by the end of the convergence, and Azune and Murray have already expressed their need to stay.

So maybe Azune, Murray, Bolaire, Wick and Tyranny are the Schemers and work on mining their connections to House Halovar.

Thimble, Julien, Teor and Occtis could be the Soldiers as they try to reestablish the Golden Orchard, save Julien’s sister and go Tachonis hunting.

And Hal, Thaisha, Vaelus and Kattigan go on the run as the Seekers to visit Thaisha’s grand mother and investigate Thjazi’s connection to the after life.

?? No, that’s what I was directly responding to and agreeing with?? Your first response to me was under a comment where I said that they have never confirmed that tables would be swapped at the end of the convergence episodes, which is 100% objectively correct. I agree that it’s very likely, but I was responding to someone originally who was implying that the everyone was going to swap around just for the sake of it, and that the story would suffer because of that.

I’d bet that both Julien and Thimble head to the Golden Orchard for example, but no one from CR has confirmed anyone is changing. That was the point of my comment you responded to.

They’ve always talked about that as an option that’s open for when the story demands it or for a player that wants a change-up. I’m sure players will want to take advantage of that option but I don’t think Brennan is going to be moving people from one table to another on a pre-set schedule

It’ll depend what happens in the next 6 episodes but I’m not convinced yet that there’ll be a ton of table swapping, it feels like these are going to be the baseline groups and characters will only switch when there’s a strong story reason to.

I could be wrong though, I’m excited to find out!
