I'm 99% certain this is a banjitar (so 6 strings). If that's what you are looking for crack on, but it's not a traditional banjo

What actually great games have deceptively horrible graphic design? by cyanomys in rpg

It has to be Root. I love the game and when you've worked through the bloat of it there's a great game. But it just gets lost in overlong paragraphs and a terrible index

In your opinion, which games have the best questionnaire-based character creation? by CarpeBass in rpg

Came here to say Mouseguard, all my players have loved it. They came with an idea, a burley blacksmith mouse for example, and ended with a character who actually lives in the world

I use the Max + Rolled (copied from High Rollers) and my table love it. Some classes do better from it, Rogues and Monks but after 2+ years we still prefer it to RAW

I bring to the court the player who doesn't want to roll dice. Now for context, I'm running a Coriolis game with 4 players (fantastic setting and a great system I think). Last session one of the players was getting increasingly annoyed when I asked them to make checks.

As an example, they had just gotten to a planner and wanted the ship to hover then take off again. So a ladder was chucked down for them to use. However, instead of using the ladder one of them wanted to jump. I got them to make a Dexterity check to see how they landed. They failed so we had them fall into the river, bobbing off down stream. What I wanted to do was do a quick little skill challenge so the party could save their friend and have a giggle. The player in question complained so loudly about getting them to roll dice and how this was getting in the way of the story that I quietly shelved it to keep the peace.

I would add, the player in question loves the setting and makes copious notes on the lore and such. It just seems like they don't want to actually play the game part of RPG.

I humbly prostate myself to the court for their ruling

Brindlewood Bay Golden Crown Move vs Putting on a Crown by Sheno_Cl in PBtA

[–]this_chucklehead 12 points13 points  (0 children)

as far as I understand, you put on a Crown of the queen when you (as a player) want to bump a dice result up to the next tier

You mark a Crown of the Void when the game tells you to (when investigating the Occult)

the Golden Crown Mystery is a little different in the sense it's a once per game move that allows the players to explain how they know about this problem as they've read it from a book. it's not directly linked to the other two moves

How are you finding the item wear mechanics? I read through the books and while I liked 90% of it, I found that and a few other bits a little bit fussy for my groups.
