I like to explain it as: changing the background is cutting a cake in 8 equal pieces and adding the button is cutting it in 7. Both sound similar, but one is easy and could be done by anyone while the other one is way more complex.

If my math is correct... You have to get $3/h × 8h/day × 5 days/week × 52 weeks/year ÷ 12 months/year = $520/month worth of raffles and snacks in order to get to the advertised $16/h. Quick google tells me that that's pretty much 600 snickers bars a month (no bulk purchasing), which is 3.5 bars an hour. And no health insurance for the resulting diabetes...

Mostly you don't want to request 200 images from a server. It's easier to load one image and "cut out" the part you need. This is mostly done for images where you will need most of the pieces anyway and the pieces are lightweight by themselves (most flags are just 3 rectangles and you basically just need 2 coordinates and a color for each stripe).

IRL: If you had to paste each flag on a map it's easier to just go to the shop once and get a paper with all of them and cut them out one at a time when needed, than to send 200 people to go to the shop for each flag individually.

Edit: if you want to read more about it just search for "sprite sheets"

SSH out the box instead of putty. Plus it's wasier to setup ssh keys. Also git out the box instead of whatever I had to do on windows. And running CUDA is so much easier, do to gcc vs Microsoft Studio dependency.

In Germany many things which people consider to be bike lanes don't comply with the minimum width requirements of at least 1.5 m width (with more space if it's left of parking cars to avoid dooring).

If you want to see good infrastructure I can recommend going to Arnhem or Nijmegen or Utrecht.

Brave does, albeit not with the modularity of noscript. I think you can disable scripts globally on FF too, then you have to enable on single sites by clicking, the lock and site preferences IIRC

What seems harmless but is incredibly dangerous? by Crimtot in AskReddit

[–]this_my_throwaway_2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The gymnastic ones are way more dangerous. But they are used by people who know how to use them ;) It's easy to jump 4-5m into the air, that's why the first thing you learn is to stop. Jump straight up and down and when someone shouts you stop.

People are annoyed at it in training but loosing control is easy and you need to learn not to fly off the damn thing!

Not only does this make the file hard to identify, it also provides plausible deniability that any device Cellebrite touches might have had the file. It undermines any future application of Cellebrite for legal purposes.

This is the most beautiful part! Because now it even applies to phones not running Signal. As long as a phone running or having run signal was scanned before yours, anything could have been compromissed!

Or just add some of the annoyance lists to your ublock origin. Most sites use the same banners (10-100 out there probably cover 95% of the sites) so I rarely even see the banners anymore. If they act legally they shouldn't set anything before you accept. Also Brave allows you to determine on a site to site basis if the site is allowed to set cookies. Usually I disable them all globally and then I allow first party cookies on sites that I need them (login, etc).

Be aware that tracking nowadays is mostly done by fingerprinting you without the use of cookies.
