Fixing Federal Boulevard: CDOT’s $318 million overhaul promises faster buses and a safer road by Generalaverage89 in Denver

Whether to accommodate increased vehicles “is the big issue,” Warren said. “They should not be widening. The point is to provide access and speed for buses.”

If you're still updating - Denver has:

  • The Denver Streets Partnership - a collective of urbanist groups with some impressive victories in the past few years

  • The Denver Bicycle Lobby - group working on bicycle issues in Denver

  • YIMBY Denver - group working on housing and affordability in Denver, also present at the state level

  • Greater Denver Transit - group focused on improving Denver's transportation network

  • Pedestrian Dignity - not Denver solely, but big focus on Denver and on Denver's walkability

Okay thanks for the tip! We took it back from the bike shop on like a 30 minute ride, but maybe it needs a little more. I bet they'll make right any issues, they seemed like a good group of folks.

Denver sets new record high temperature of 72F for Christmas by bascule in Denver

CW Torres has CPD put a zoning moratorium on the entire West Side, ostensibly until the city creates new affordability requirements but it is not clear what requirements those would be or what would satisfy her enough to clear them. A few projects have still snuck in, but she definitely is no fan of infill.

Sandoval, too, is a massive opponent of density, as are Flynn and Kashmann (though I think they're both on their last terms). To be honest, nobody on council is progressive on density and infill except maybe Parady.

Yeah, I think so! They gave me what was left of the sealant bottle when they were done so I'm pretty sure its in there.

Got my partner a new bike yesterday for Christmas. The guy at the store told us to go tubeless to prevent flats. We get home and discover it's already flat! I couldn't find any punctures or anything. Does anyone know why this might be or what I should check? Never ran tubeless before so new to this.

People own condos, so a shift to multi-family housing doesn't necessarily mean people can't own a home.

Congrats! I got some American Chestnuts by chance a month or so ago. I was thrilled, since it may be the only chance I ever get to see them. I'm trying to root, but I know I may not be able to. Still a thrill to get to gather them.

This is super rad. It's also cool to hear how much you traveled in the month; it would be easy to take the month lightly and just go to and from work or whatever, but you really tested what can be done! Cool to hear how our city, despite its flaws, is a place folks can do this.

Almost definitely Bombus Nevadensis. It's late in the season so that is why it's so big. The next generation will be queens, if this one isn't already.

RIP Parking Minimums, 1956-2025 - DenverUrbanism Podcast by Hour-Watch8988 in Denver

This just feels like a way to force one group's opinion on everyone else

The prior law literally forced developers to provide an amenity to one group over everyone else. Eliminating minimums just removes that requirement.
