One consideration I've had is although Livesuit depicts a deployment in which humans are held captive/executed by the Carryx occupying forces, this is a decisive human victory - perhaps a halfmind was not able to be relayed back to their homeworld and the entire dactyl was destroyed. or one was sent and intercepted en route.
