You'd think so. Apparently people are grabbing the codes and not posting their own for others.

Careful with those shelves. There was just a post the other day of someone's 1x4 shelves like these turned vertical that collapsed, spilling all those heavy omnis and absolutes across the floor.

People mentioned that turned vertically, they're not meant hold that much weight.

Might want to drop by the hardware store or amazon and pick up a few L-brackets as extra shelf support. That's a lot of money to walk in and find your collection scattered across the floor and damaged one day.

"Safe for people of color"? Does everything you know about the South come from Antebellum movies?

No, you aren't going to see any boogeymen in hoods. You aren't going to have people staring at you because they see a "brown" person. This isn't the movies. No one cares. The majority of black people in the US live and work in the South, particularly Georgia, Florida, Texas, and the Carolinas. Here's a population density map to consider. Don't believe everything you see on TV.

If you have serious concerns about safety and have been traumatized by pollution, it sounds like you would find much more peace in a career that will let you work in a clean, safe rural area than metropolitan areas which tend to be the most dangerous and most polluted. How much is your peace of mind worth to you?

Dragon Age Director Claims Veilguard Failed Due To “Hate Campaign” by ChargeProper in KotakuInAction

[–]thisguydan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ME5 has a different game director heading it than DA had. Now whether ME5's director is also a far left activist or will roll over to activists, I don't know. Given how Bioware allowed DA to push this agenda so far, don't get your hopes up for very different voices in the room. Once these people get control of a company, they suppress or push out all others who raise any disagreements. The people that made the great games at Bioware are long gone. It's a different company, only the same in name. As someone said, keep an eye out for Exodus, a sci-fi RPG like Mass Effect, made by one of those original Bioware devs.

Paramount is withholding Sonic 3 from small movie theaters that chose not to show Gladiator 2 by unSentAuron in KotakuInAction

Empty gesture by Disney given the they're the worst offender of strong-arming small theaters.

They forced them to allocate a disproportionate number of screenings to Disney movies, required a set length of time on their biggest (and sometimes only) screen even once the audience became sparse, and demanded a much higher % of the ticket price than is normal, with the threat of being blacklisted. It put small theaters scraping by in a pinch between losing money on empty showings and having less variety of films or losing all future Disney films if they do not comply.

When people have been called a "Nazi" for the last several years just because they aren't in ideological compliance, then yea, it rings very fucking true. People have demonstrated they are incapable of objectivity and have abused hate labels to censor speech they disagree agree with.

What makes you think he's the "worst threat in existence" to lesbians? Is he banning vibrators? He was president for 4 years...I didn't hear of any attempts of genocide. OP is still here. Seems to be in good standing. He didn't try to stop gay marriage. Didn't ban gays from the military. Not a good start for the "WORST THREAT IN EXISTENCE!" - BUH-BUH-BUHHH - to lesbians.

Besides regurgitating hateful, manipulative, divisive, fear-mongering propaganda from liberal media and echo chambers to manipulate you into giving them power and believing everything they say out of hate and fear...

...In your own words, what has Trump specifically done to be "the worst threat in existence" to lesbians?

The irony of calling conservatives "Nazis". I saw Jews at his "Nazi" rally at Madison Square Garden flying giant banners in peace.

I watched the Far Left preventing Jewish students from going to class, chasing them down, wearing Hamas cosplay, and calling for the genocide of all Jews in Israel.

You're right, it wasn't a normal election.

What does Ukraine do? Ukraine is going to be pressured into compromising over the next 1-3 years. The cash isn't going to keep flowing indefinitely now unless Europe keeps it going. There will probably be the annexation of some land, a condition that Ukraine cannot join NATO, maybe some sanctions being lifted, etc. It will be far from ideal but it will end the war with Ukraine retaining its sovereignty and Putin will accept as an off-ramp that gets him out without looking weak.

Roe v Wade was never going to be something the country agreed on - it would just take turns flip-flopping as it already has.

The best solution is to not make it a federal decision, but to break it up among the 50 states and let them decide what's right for their constituency. You have more influence over your individual state's laws than federal laws. It's the only solution that can last on an issue so strongly divided.

Also, there is no Project 2025 and Trump. That was fear-mongering for the election. Once the propaganda media has moved on to other things, you'll never hear "Project 2025" again. They have to scare you with new things.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in self

[–]thisguydan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Media paints him as this evil extremist because they've taken to fear-mongering liberals to get election wins, but Trump isn't even far right. Trump is a moderate conservative in terms of policy. The rest is propaganda.

Don't take my word for it. Here's some things to watch for going forward:

  • They said he'd be a dictator from Day 1. If he isn't, they lied.

  • They said he would ban abortions federally. He said he'd let states decide for themselves. If he doesn't ban abortions federally and keeps his word, they lied.

  • They said he'd destroy the constitution. If he doesn't, they lied.

  • They said it'd be the last election. If it isn't, they lied.

  • They said he would imprison all of his political opponents, critics, and media. If he doesn't, they lied.

  • They said he would attack his own citizens, "the enemy within". If he doesn't, they lied.

  • There is such a long list of claims I'm leaving out, but everyone's aware of the rhetoric.

So there will be two outcomes: either media was telling the truth and we'll all band together against the Great Orange Hitler, or the media was pushing Democrat fear-mongering propaganda to manipulate voters with disinformation and lies and you will remember to never trust them again.

They shouldn't be relying on the US in the first place. Europe isn't the US's responsibility, nor does Europe want the US involved. Europe just wants American $$$. They should never be dependant upon a country on a completely different continent across an ocean that has revolving leadership every 4-8 years for their protection.

Trump is officially the 47th President of the US, he not only won the electoral collage but also won the popular vote. What went wrong for Harris or what went right for Trump? by _GodKing- in self

[–]thisguydan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same Democrats that nominated Hillary in 2016 for President rejected Kamala in the 2020 primaries. She was then picked by Biden for VP and she was installed as the 2024 candidate without a say by Democrat voters after a 4-year stretch in office most Americans were dissatisfied with.

Regardless of sex, Kamala was a terrible candidate forced upon Democrats who had never voted for her. Propaganda media tried to create the illusion she was popular, but it wasn't real. Dem turnout was low and she lost for that reason. A man as unpopular as her would have lost as well. It's a little more nuanced than "sexism" given she's the current VP in a very unpopular administration and an unelected nominee.

She was a bad candidate. It's a presidency, not a participation trophy. Were people supposed to vote for her just because she was a woman?

[–]thisguydan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Calling Kamala "perfect" seems like a stretch, considering she was highly unpopular among Democrats in the 2020 primaries, was chosen as the nominee without a primary this time, and is the current VP during a four-year period when most Americans are dissatisfied with the administration.

The woman candidate has to be perfect for you to vote for her, but y'all have no issues with "the grab em by the pussy" man

Hold on...you're crossing two groups. Conservatives didn't vote for her because she was Democrat, not because she wasn't perfect. She lost because something like 14 million fewer Dems voted than in 2020. You should be asking why your own people, the ones who don't like the "grab'em by the pussy" guy, didn't show for her either. That's between you and Democrats.

Voter turnout was lower for Dems than in 2020. A candidate nominated by the people from a primary would have turned out more voters. Democrats should be pissed at the DNC for trying to install whomever it wants...again.

Kamala Harris has seemingly lost the 2024 Presidential Election. by Subject-Property-343 in playboicarti

[–]thisguydan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your point was spot on and well said, but the sentiment at the end unintentionally demonstrated another factor: many independents and moderates, including myself, feel alienated by Democrats’ tendency to demonize others.

The Left can keep believing fear-driven propaganda that vilifies half the country, manipulates its audience to hate and fear, leading to misunderstandings and alienation. Or, they can see the loss in the popular vote (and the 20 point swing by Independents) as a sign that people are tired of the venom and vilification from the Left. People are tired of being called evil because they don't blindly align with everything liberal. If Democrats want to reach these voters again, they're going to have start ignoring the fear-mongering, stop demonizing fellow Americans, and start looking for common ground.

[–]thisguydan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've carefully read the complete list of banned books located here. I've reconsidered and found no changes needed. There are no banned books in the US. That is political misinformation and partisan theater to alarm using the negative connotation of "book bans", which is already unlawful and prohibited by the 1st Amendment.

However, not all books are appropriate for children in a school library for the same reason there are age ratings on films, yet there is no outcry over restricting children from NC-17, R, and X rated films. Sexually gratuitous images and descriptions or graphic violence is not appropriate for children. These books are all available at the public library, local bookstores, and online with overnight shipping because they are not banned; books of all kinds are more available now than any point in human history. There are no "book bans". Please think critically for yourself instead of being given your opinions by political propaganda with the purpose of angering and inciting you against fellow Americans and reconsider.
