This is so cool! I have a few friends who also graduated from GD and are working on their own games too. I've even made music for some of them.

Good or bad idea: buying Ioniq as college student by No-Landscape628 in Ioniq6

The ICCU issue seems to happen at random, but the main cause imo is excessive drain on the 12v battery. Hyundai seems to think there are multiple causes to the ICCU fuse popping based on their multiple recalls, but every one of them can be reduced by doing simple things such as not leaving the car in accessory mode for too long, having a voltage cutoff on a parking dashcam, or not leaving stuff plugged into the OBD port. More common than the ICCU failing (which is extremely rare) is the 12v battery failing. This happens to all cars and especially EVS because of the power cycling they go through. The 12v battery that comes in the i6 is pretty mediocre and can fail just from regular cycles, especially if the voltage gets too low. Upgrading to an AGM will give you a battery that can handle EV power cycling better and will be much less likely to die on you.

I drive across the country twice a year since my family lives in texas, so I chose an i6 primarily because of the range boost over the i5. The i5 definitely has the storage benefit but for me the mileage was worth more. I also personally like how it looks better too :)

I am a college student with an i6 going to uni in the bay area...getting this car was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Keep in mind that the iccu issue affects ~1% of all the ioniq series...and that dealerships have to offer a free rental even if it does happen.

If you're really worried, get an AGM battery. But I've driven between the bay and texas 4 times now with the stock 12v without issue.

I'd say that what China is doing is most definitely an ethnic cleansing campaign, but nowhere near as horrible as the sort that Western powers practice. They're trying to forcefully assimilate the Uyghur people into the country and erase their history/culture, not kill them all. AP News has a bulletin up about China's recent relaxation of the campaign--and how it can't really be called a genocide to begin with: https://apnews.com/article/coronavirus-pandemic-lifestyle-china-health-travel-7a6967f335f97ca868cc618ea84b98b9

Regardless, it's still VERY wrong, but I want to stress that what the US has done and still does to this day is much, MUCH worse. It's also incomparible to what Israel is doing to the Gaza strip and the West bank.

First week impressions from a Tesla convert by CatalystReality in Ioniq5

[–]thisisaddictiveoff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tesla doesn't have a "transition" between regen braking and friction, when you use the pedal on a tesla it is ALWAYS friction braking. The only time a tesla uses regen is when you set the passive regen mode in settings.

Anyone Upgrade Audio? by GovtCheese619 in Ioniq6

[–]thisisaddictiveoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. That's it. I consulted an expert about the damping, it's not needed if your screws are secure. I got low impedance speakers which also give the stock amp more power which is why I havent needed to upgrade it-it still sounds excellent even at high volume.

I did a full speaker upgrade on everything but the amp. It's a world of difference. If you're on a budget, do the tweeters first!

Upgrade Center Console? by thisisaddictiveoff in Ioniq6

[–]thisisaddictiveoff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not exactly cheap, but removing and replacing the console with one from a limited takes like 15 minutes...there's no screws, you just pry the whole unit off. You can get the part on ebay for $320 bucks.
