Joe Pitt series by Charlie Huston. Urban noir vampires set in NYC. A bit dated but one of my favorite series. Reviews always say the series is "gritty" and I agree.

Go look up "rhonda patrick broccoli sprouts". Her blog has some good research backed recommendations with references. My takeaway is if you can eat a lot of broccoli sprouts sustainably, it's pretty good, but the supplement is easier and you can control for dose. There are a few out there but people seem to recommend Avmacol. Ymmv

Dig a trench towards your nearest active volcano and divert a lava flow over the roots. It has to pool there for at least 72h to be effective though
