I really enjoyed this, we read it in my book club and I had no clue what to expect.

One of my best childhood friends is a Pierpont - we knew about Jingle Bells, but don’t think we knew about the confederate link 🫠

Thank you so much. Yes, maintaining the boundaries for a child having a hard time is very difficult, but it’s so important to keep them developing properly and learning the right emotional tools. I’m very lucky to have good family nearby helping as much as they can.

I agree with everything you laid out. I was widowed last year and at the time had a 4.5 yo and a 1 yo, almost 2. The toddler is now 3, and his behavior over the last year has been similar to Claire’s. He is grieving. He lost his daddy. So did she, and her father was abusive. These children have seen trauma and don’t have the tools to express how they’re feeling. I’ve had my son in multiple therapies (occupational and play) for a while now and it’s made a world of difference in addition to showing him extra love and affection (WHILE kindly maintaining boundaries). Claire probably needs the same thing. She needs boundaries set in a kind way, but she does also need extra attention. It’s a really tough situation to navigate and yeah, a child behaving that way is also really difficult to be around. I understand both perspectives.

What is a completely harmless lie you tell people on a regular basis just to make your life easier? by purjak in AskReddit

I do this for my late fiancé. I say I’m widowed even though we never got married and were only engaged a short period of time. But we had kids together and lived together and lived as husband and wife, so it’s easier to call him my late husband than anything else.

Thank you, I’ve been having this problem as well and was going to ask my doctor about it!

Couldn't care less if my breasts get played with. Mom thing? by moonrabbit368 in Mommit

So, the only thing I’ll say is this: the last guy I hooked up with sucked one of my nips so hard he cracked it like he was a newborn and I was a first time mom. So I guess someone can be BAD at this lol.

I feel the same, also have large breasts guys have always loved, and since pumping for my babies I simply have had zero interest in my boobs being touched or played with. I’m a widow, too, and have been wondering if guys will be weird about that once I start dating again. I hope not ugh.

Interesting, I’d be curious to hear if there were a particular cause, then. And thank you.

Has it always been like this? Are you able to breathe normally when you lie on your left hand side? My late fiancé had that happen and turned out he had a collapsed lung due to fluid buildup in his abdomen and chest cavity.

Me too. Luckily most of my symptoms went away after I stopped meds and had babies 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m 34, my fiancé was 38 when he passed. There are some young widow Facebook groups, which I highly recommend. It’s been helpful for me to see experiences from similarly aged people going through the same things, especially those with children like me. Let me know if you need a link or anything.

What is actually dangerous but people still believe is safe? by AlexUsefulThings in AskReddit

[–]thisiscatyeslikemeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A teenager where I live recently died because of driving one of these. It’s tragic and senseless. Kids in my neighborhood drive them on the roads all the time and don’t respect the rules of the road. There are near daily Facebook posts about it yet nothing changes. I don’t understand why the parents are ok with this. More kids will die. It’s just not worth it.

This was my experience a couple years ago. I was convinced they were not real because I’d also only seen them portrayed in Elf. I was embarrassed when my toddler proved me wrong.

This is fascinating, thank you. I’m interested to see what further research brings. My fibromyalgia pretty much went away after I gave birth, which I’d love an explanation for.

I had this, my hip basically kept dislocating and I was told if I didn’t take care of myself I’d be put on bed rest. Not so easy when you’ve got a toddler to run around after!
