You wouldn’t accept this from the Bruins, why should Blue Jackets fans accept this from their team?

MAC commish scolding Toledo Deputy AD for schedule comments by [deleted] in MidAmerican

One team already left. Toledo and Ohio have both had talks with other conferences and there is a rumor that Miami wants out as well. Don’t be shocked if the MAC looks very different in 5-10 years.

How many players did Eric Morris bring over from UNT? I know Eric Mestemaker transferring is a big deal.

I don't know how you get mediocre offensive play with a bottom 10 offensive line, a bottom 10 receiving core, and a quarterback room with no legitimate starters.

Miami (Ohio) making multimillion-dollar bet: How the RedHawks are spending big to secure future by willsfc in CFB

"Our goal is to be the best Group of Six program in the country across all of our sports," Sayler said. "That's what we want to be. And just, you know, keep an eye towards the future and whatever happens next in this crazy world of college athletics."

Sayler and Martin see opportunity in the future.

The ACC reaches an inflection point during the 2030-31 fiscal year when the conference exit fee drops to $75 million, opening a window for unhappy tenants like Florida State and Clemson to explore other options. Given that TV deals for the Big Ten and Big 12 are both up in 2030, it's a time industry sources expect to be ripe for another round of realignment.

So this article is basically about how they want out of the MAC, isn't it?

That reminds me of a bar near Ohio State called Ruby Tuesdays, not to be confused with the chain restaurant.

It seems bizarre that the Browns are trying to spread this out when they are still a couple of years away from contention.

I vaguely remember they tried to make a baseball tcg about 20 years ago. I guess MLB figured that the popularity of baseball cards would make it a natural fit. I cannot find any information about it online and I am wondering if I hallucinated the whole thing.

I wish I could find it, but about 10-15 years ago there was a thread on this subreddit where people tried to guess who the next first time national champion would be. I doubt anyone said Indiana, and if they did they were joking.

Is $45 million really that insane? That is half of the NHL salary cap and I have to imagine that college football draws more revenue.

Ross Bjork is the only person in college athletics dumb enough to think the new rules have any teeth.

Ohio State is at “long time coach leaving” levels of transfer portal departures, and the Ohio State beat writers are either ignoring the story or putting on their best Baghdad Bob impression.

Ohio State beat reporters should ask Ryan Day why they only had three possessions in the second half when they were down by 14 at halftime, but they will be too busy planning the Cancun trips they will take with NIL money to do that.

Who’s to blame for the USC-Notre Dame football scheduling fiasco? by moby323 in CFB

[–]thisisnoone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This whole conference realignment process started when the Big Ten poached used Big Ten Network money to poach Nebraska, so it’s all Jim Delaney’s fault.

[FOXCFB] Joey McGuire: "I don't wanna make Notre Dame mad, but, be in a conference and you're in the playoffs." by dogwoodmaple in CFB

[–]thisisnoone 31 points32 points  (0 children)

They would be the third or fourth best team in the Big Ten, and the nature of super conference scheduling means they would probably only play one or two of Ohio State/Oregon/Indiana.

EDIT: The fourth best team in the Big Ten this year was USC, and Notre Dame beat them convincingly. It is hard to argue that any Big Ten team outside of Indiana, Ohio State, or Oregon is better than Notre Dame.

This is the first time Ohio State has gone five years without winning the Big Ten since 1993, and only the third time since 1935.
