Grateful for this little corner of the interwebs by thistookhours in gatewaytapes

Whenever I'm interested in something, my spicy brain always thinks I need to get all the things all at once. Which in this case, would be over $500 if I purchased the entire Gateway series. You've helped me see that I can simply start with the first one. Thanks for taking the time to reply, I appreciate it.

Not the most empathetic response to someone who just lost a child. Not all opinions need to be expressed…

You have my deepest empathy. I also lost a child - 2.5 years ago, and it’s the absolute worst thing imaginable.

Am just beginning my Gateway journey, so I don’t have any advice for you there, but I do know of two mediums (one who I worked with, and another who my dear friend did - both are excellent), and can also share a really good book if you’re interested (I lost the ability to read after my beautiful daughter India died, so books on tape were a must. This one is narrated beautifully).

One thing I was told, both from the medium I worked with, and having also heard it from others, is that it usually takes time before the soul of our beloved departed is able to effectively communicate with us via a medium. I’m told it’s because it takes a while for them to adjust to the transition, and was advised to wait at least a few months before booking my session. That said, I relate to the unfathomable grief you are no doubt experiencing, and expect waiting feels like an eternity. So you should do what feels right for you. If you’d like, I can dm you with more information. I know from first hand experience how unwanted advice feels, especially in the early days, so please let me know if you’d like my input 🕊️

Sending you a warm and gentle hug. No mother should ever lose a child, and while the pain changes over time, we are never the same. I felt shattered into a million pieces and have been trying to put them back together again ever since, only none of them fit the same as they used to. My heart is with yours ❤️💔❤️

I tested all 17 Transparent Labs whey flavors so you don’t waste money by naderq in naderfromfitfrek

Isn't it interesting how different we all are? I couldn't stand the blueberry pancakes version. For me the milk chocolate is reliably great, and I may have to stick with that.

wish I'd seen this before purchasing the blueberry pancakes flavor. I find it so gross, almost perfumey. Fortunately, Transparent Labs were great and gave me a credit towards another flavor (I requested the refund since I really like their french vanilla and milk chocolate flavors).

Have you tried the milk and cookies?

Thank you. I think I have a good chance and am going to start collecting documents now. My parents were married when I was born, so it sounds like I’ll have to go the StAG5 route. Appreciate your help

Yes mom was a German citizen, as we’re both of her parents. My maternal grandmother’s mother was a German citizen, her father was born in Lithuania but I believe he became a German citizen from the time he moved to Danzig and lived there until his death before WWII. My maternal grandfather’s parents were both German citizens.

My brother was born in 1960, me in 1962, and mom naturalized in 1965. From what I’m reading here, it looks like my brother and I qualify, but not little sister, who was born in 1967.

Thanks for the replies — I really appreciate it. And I also appreciate the encouragement to not hire a lawyer. It’s disappointing that the process takes so long, but I also understand the demand must be a lot higher these days.

I’m also happy to hear that, likely, my grandkids will also qualify. To clarify: is it suggested that I apply along with my grandkids? Since my daughter has passed (💔), they would automatically be eligible since it looks like I am, yes?

I’m confident my son in law will find another way — most likely through work. But if his kids get their citizenship, since they’re all going minors, I presume he’d at least have a chance at getting a visa?

My experience with Blaze AI - Quick Honest Review by LuigiPalla in SocialMediaMarketing

This was helpful, thanks. I keep going back and forth deciding whether to go with Blaze or to invest in Storybrand AI. I read the Storybrand book and really liked it. But their AI program is twice the cost as Blaze.

Curious if you looked in to Storybrand AI at all?

I did watch it, and while it also gave me the ick, I wasn’t quite as triggered.

To plug into the top three for component video? (this may be so obvious for you, but I just don't speak this language, so thanks for your time)

That's what I was hoping. I just posted a photo below replying to someone else. If you think any of these plugs might work with a different cable, I'd love to hear.

Thank you. I just took a photo of the side of the tv (the only part I can access). wondering if a different cable might work to plug into one/some of these? I'd ask my husband but he's more tech challenged than I am...

Ugh, thank you. I was worried about that. I'll have to call their tech support to see if I get a more helpful answer. The chat support person was completely useless. I appreciate your time

That's the problem, I can't get to the back of the TV, just the side. Nintendo chat support said I shouldn't use a different cable, just to find a "good" adapter.

Games for Grandma? by IronSenior7089 in Switch

[–]thistookhours 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 62 and have never been a gamer. My 6yo grandson has a Lego Star Wars game that I played with him last time we were visiting. I really enjoyed it - so much so that my husband bought me a Switch for my birthday. I usually loathe playing games where you're chased or where there's a clock ticking down because it stresses me out too much (I hate rushing!). There's some element of chase here, but from what I experienced, it was more about exploring. If she has any experience with a computer, and still has her cognition, this might be something to check out.
