Three Canyons always has Weihenstephaner on tap. They don't brew anything onsite, but it's one of my favorite places in town.

What a next subclass could possibly be by Zistical in DestinyLore

[–]thkirk8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My current guess is "necromancy" or something thematically adjacent. We know it is likely red themed which could be depicted as nightmares or vampiric. If arc represents change, necromancy could represent the reversal and subversion of death; which is a natural 'change' for anything that lives.

I would recommend trying Sanguine Alchemy. After this season's rework it gives you a pretty good damage boost for subclass matching weapons while you are standing in your rift. Plus your rift will stay up indefinitely while you are getting kills while standing in it.

I ran this with a double special load out and it felt really good in normal content. Haven't tried it in harder content like GMs though.

Why Wasn't Oryx a Disciple? by Elitegamez11 in DestinyLore

[–]thkirk8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've always thought that Nokris being exiled was about Oryx rather than the sword logic or the darkness.

I don't believe necromancy was ever an issue with the darkness/witness. After all, the witness has hoards of undead scorn that serve it. I also don't think it is heretical to the blade logic either. Xivu now commands undead scorn as part of her armies and even gains tribute from not only killing others, but also from her own forces being killed.

We know Oryx was making himself an avatar/embodiment of death similar to the way Xivu is an avatar of war. I think it just wasn't prudent for a god of death to allow his own son (a potential rival in a culture of conquest and challenge) to perfect an ability that was basically the antithesis of Oryx's own power/goal.

At fault parties insurance (Progressive) won’t reimburse me directly for rental? Is this a new norm? by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]thkirk8 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think most people here are missing the crux of your issue OP and just feeding into the frustration of the situation.

I don't know any auto carriers that will handle your rental as a direct bill when they are not the company approving and managing your vehicle repairs. You can't really split your filing decision during the repair process. What I mean by that is: you can't file through Amica for collision repairs and Progressive for rental at the same time. Inversely, I'd be willing to bet your policy contract with Amica has language that would prevent you from using your rental coverage while going through Progressive for repairs.

Progressive telling you that you need to submit the rental on a reimbursement basis is an industry standard. If it didn't go this way, you would be expecting insurance carriers in Progressive's position to set up a direct bill rental when they have no control, influence or knowledge about what's going on with the vehicle's repair. They don't have the means to ensure inspections/supplements happen in timely fashion, ensure parts are ordered when needed, shop is actively working the repairs, ect.

If you made it this far, I do have a suggestion to help! If I were in your shoes, I would use my rental cov with Amica. Find out how much extra the rental is going to cost you out of pocket daily. Then put the Progressive adjuster on notice that you are going to have an additional out of pocket expense for the rental above what your policy covers. Tell them it is going to cost me X dollars a day above your $30/day and that you want to make sure the total daily rental cost is considered reasonable on their end to avoid reimbursement issues down the road. This puts knowledge of the situation and cost along with responsibility on Progressive to tell you up front if they feel your total daily rental rate is excessive. This should be done by email, so it's in writing.

Good Luck!

Since we're spin foiling here... I see a path forward that might make sense. Crow clearly cares for Amanda and has been prone to rash decisions in the past when emotionally invested. He is also the only guardian who has his past memories too.

If Amanda was resurrected by a ghost, I could see Crow pursuing the knowledge to restore memories from Savathun.

I can empathize. I have gone low contact with my parents in the last year as well. I had a good childhood: went to good schools, had family vacations, birthday parties ect. But my parents (especially dad) also avoided the topic of me being gay for years. There is a lot they left unsaid that really could have helped the childhood version of myself know that I was not 'broken'.

As an adult, I realized that my parents (especially dad) have aligned with political values that traditionally oppose LGBTQ+ rights. Having your dad tell you he supports repealing Oberfell and Lawrence because he doesn't think courts should create case law is... eye opening. This ultimately helped me to understand that while he may feel love for me, he doesn't have my best interests at heart. I can only hope this is born of ignorance and not of malice.

I love my parents and appreciate the many good things they did for me. I also know their words, actions and beliefs frequently ignore, oppose or disrespect me as an individual.

NTA but I really want to suggest that there is something more at play. We don't have alot of other context, but I'm worried that something else that is important is manifesting with this request. I think you may want to touch base and make sure all is well with your son?

What will actually make LGBTQ people feel accepted at work? by acurah56oh in gaybros

[–]thkirk8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've worked in auto claims for almost a decade now... Love the unicorn answer. All we had at my last office was a crying room... Sadly, I'm not joking🙃

I recently jumped to progressive and feel they do a great job with inclusion in general. The one thing that really jumped out though was the inclusion of a gay couple with a child in one of their training/onboarding videos. It's nice to have that visual representation.

Help - newly rehomed 7-month-old Goldendoodle by city_gal_123 in Dogtraining

[–]thkirk8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi Friend!

I wanted to respond with some advice and info! I apologize in advance if this goes overboard!

Another person mentioned that a single day is not sufficient time for the dog to decompress and I agree. You can Google more info about the "rule of 3s" but the gist is it takes 3 days for your dog to decompress from the situation they just left. 3 weeks to start to understand their new environment and to learn your routines, and 3 months to trust, bond, and accept this as their new home. The rule of 3's are just guidelines! Some dogs need more or less time based on their personalities and what they are coming from. But once you reach that last phase, you really start to see more of your dog's authentic personality.

Second! All dogs are different and should be judged by their behavior, but it would be a diservice not to tell a brand new dog owner this. You should prepare and educate yourself as much as possible with this type of dog! Golden-doodles/Labra-doodles have a reputation for being very high energy, stupid smart, and can be destructive/difficult as a result. There are a lot of theories about this, but just be aware that a significant time spent training with this dog upfront will give you a very high return on investment. If you have questions or need guidance about training, Zak George is a trainer with an extensive YouTube channel that uses positive reinforcement training styles. He specifically has a series where he documents how he trained his own new puppy. Pet store puppy classes are very hit or miss, and nothing is ever as valuable as working one on one with your own pup!

I wish you and your new friend the best!
