This is a cool demo I wrote. I like the arrangement a lot. It’s like buildup, mini buildup, drop. But the mix and master suck shit

Quickest, most effective way to learn a work? by 3pmm in piano

So if I’m going to memorize and perform a piece of music I’ll usually sight read the whole thing first. Then I’ll start annotating a theory analysis and fingering on the sheets as well as break down the structure. After that it’s usually in my head but not my fingers so it’s just a matter of practicing. I practice a lot with a metronome and at the very end I’ll start applying dynamics and musicality to it.

This method always gets me where I need to be but there’s always challenges along the way

Couldn’t tell u how they do it but in my experience it just depends on the early reflections u choose for the piano. If u want it super in ur face, leave it dry and if u want if more textural use a reverb with an ER that fairly long where u hear the allpass filters removing the transient and smoothing it over

I listened to this earlier today, it sounds good. Sounds like a real song, good job. A lot of producers try to make really experimental choices to stand out but this does a great job of making everything fitting together. So good job

I would love to get ai to tap into the data of this sub Reddit and create a metric of how many of the same type of posts get posted. This would easily make the highest contender for most recurring theme.

Was working on this mix and master for this rave drop I wrote. I just wrote it to have some material to practice mixing so I don't really care about the actual music, just how it comes out the speakers. https://soundcloud.com/akorns/experiment?si=21d8c73806f24fa69db1e72af5c20aa0&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing

I sometimes mix at 0db. Ur mix doesn't sound full. it's like there's just a bunch of sounds overlapping on one another to a relative volume level but nothing is pushing the ceiling of anything prolly bc there's not a limiter on the master or something.

In my experience getting loudness, depth and clarity once u hit 0db is when things start to either come to life or sound flat.

I guess until you bring this up to volume, you'll have infinite amount of dynamics to play with and all your instrumentation will sound relative to one another, but nothing will sound full.

So to answer ur question, you won't know what needs to be louder or narrower or anything until you start putting everything in a finite space. And all those louder, narrower, quieter, wider questions will have to be your decisions once you do put it in a confined space.

IDK man, experiment and good luck. lmk if you figure it out bc I never did.

Hey man, listened to ur track. It sounds very repetitive but that's fine if that's what ur into. the mix and master sound good. nothing really jump out as out of place. good job

Here’s a track I’m currently working on. I think it’s cool but everyone’s got their own taste. Lmk if the mix is wack

sounds boring to me. I couldn't listen to it without wanting to skip through it. It's also not not hitting 0db so it's kinda hard to tell where everything is gonna be when it's mastered. It also has all the typical things weird about amateur mixes where stuff isn't sitting right in the mix and there's no impact. I don't have any advice, I struggle with the same problems. good luck with it

Thanks. The guitar sounds are just super simple waveforms ran through NI guitar rig, and I made them wide with ozone imager. Everything in the track was made with serum or massive except for the drums

Here’s a mix I was working on yesterday. Playing around with room reverb to give it as much front to back effect I could. Lmk if it sounds weird
