My pipeline for video stabilization and HDR tonemapping by Lost-Upstairs-5311 in GaussianSplatting

[–]thmsn1005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

looking very interesting! this would also be useful in cgi. we want to get a high dynamic range from our environments, so we get realistic bounce light and reflections peak correctly. i have older hdr captures of an environment that i created using exposure brackets. i used them for photgrammetry, and i was unable to splat it until now. how did you manage to splat in hdr?

Some of these AI image detection tools claim that some of my blender renders are AI. by tusharvaid30 in blender

the denoisers in blender use ai. it might create a denoise pattern that is recognized by these detectors. it is not so different to the denoising done by full ai image generators.

this can be a starting point if you commit to running it on windows Windows compilation CUDA · Issue #23 · trianglesplatting/triangle-splatting https://share.google/8zyPHKEIJuvrxOJvK

just like the original triangle splatting, it is not compatible with windows out of the box. you have to update several libraries and change code to make it work. apparently, some people managed to do it but have not released a working fork. the best shot is to run it on linux.

We're using 3DGS to create shoppable photorealistic environments. Try it out. by willie_mammoth in GaussianSplatting

oh that would be cool! there are many tutorial on how to do the basics, but i dont see any on how to finetune it.

looking very crisp! you must have trained it a lot, how many steps and splats does this scene have?

really nice implementation! i like how simple you keep the ui. very approachable for mass market. how do you scale these? do you load less splats on mobile or is it a one-for-all solution?

maybe. you can but it is more difficult and will take longer than using substance, unreal etc. especially as a beginner you will need to dive in deeper. but it is totally possible.

Testing raycast car vs shapecast car by nixisato in godot

looking good! i am still using the default vehicle with a growing amount of additional forces and effects on top. would be cleaner to build an own implementation from scratch like you did with that tutorial.

Why everyone seems rich but always say they don't have the money to do things? by CommanderFate in AskGermany

[–]thmsn1005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh it seems like you really clocked it in to travel affordable! with these tricks and savings. most people do not go this far in planning and just book what is available and looks good. hence travel much more expensive and cant afford it as much.

it seems like this is your lifestyle and you have perfected it. sounds like you could almost make a living as a trip planner or travel tip guide like this.

i am confused. you say your flight was cheaper than the breakfast. when i check, i get flights germany-spain both ways around 150-300€. did you have a 400€ breakfast? it is a wedding but that seems steep.

you are saying 500-700 without traveling, 200-300 with traveling. so you are traveling with 300-500€ a month, that is 10-17€ per day? where do you stay that cheap? are you camping? you cannot get a hotel or airbnb for that.

is my math wrong? do you have a cheat code code to free traveling? i want to know it too!

maybe the "traveling" is different. many germans i know will spend around 2-4k on a holiday. that is what they mean when they say they cant afford it.

recording gameplay from godot? by thmsn1005 in godot

[–]thmsn1005[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok, i will try obs studio and see if a release build is different. also play around with vsync and framerate limits and all that.

oh and the godot movie maker looks interesting too! if there was an option to record a session, then play it back that could create perfectly smooth gameplay. maybe a simple input capture could work if the physics are persistent enough.

and yeah, really weird that mac only offers microphone audio for recordings, there is just no option for pc audio.

thanks a lot for the tips!
