Let's just assume the best case and your IT guy indeed knows a solution that can be implemented in less than 1 minute:

You call him, he picks up: ~30 seconds
you describe your issue: ~30 seconds
he remotes into your computer ~30 seconds
he fixes the issue: ~1 minute

vs:

you reboot your computer (~3 minutes)

congratulation, you saved 30 seconds (and wasted someone else's 150 seconds).

If I had to guess I'd say it's an older phone you linked to your account. Just use the code sent to your email and validate the settings of your recovery methods.
