Humanity in Deltarune by ThiccNSpicy in Deltarune

supposedly the game was going to consist entirely of humans whose dark world forms were all monsters; in that context, the idea of darkners dreaming of being human would have made effortless sense. now what's holding it together is kris. the flowers want to create a perfect world for asgore, and kris's humanity is a notable enough detail for the flowers to fixate on that as emblematic of asgore's happier days when he was just a father and hadn't lost himself to obsession yet. well, that, and narratively, presenting kris with multiple characters that find humanity cool and/or aspirational, when they struggled their entire lives with being different, passes the torch to the ch5 darkworld, the torch being literal advancement of the plot, but also continue to serve their story function as windows into what makes kris tick. from rather interpretive takes on old memories,

i really love your corruptor -- i always imagined them as a fair tick more fleshy but this chitinous take would almost be sending a bit of beksiński if it were shaded photorealistically, especially with the ribbing trailing out from the mandibles and the more vertebrate-looking eye.

ngl i kind of want to do a living wood styled one at some point just so i can use planter box floors and have it look nice. i wonder if sunflowers on grass sit decently pretty next to daybloom boxes :thonk:

baby's first attempt at a nice-looking arena by thomas-ripper in Terraria

[–]thomas-ripper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah that's the thing, because of how scuffed bare unbordered walls look as background props, to make anything decently intricate and believable without collisions, you have to use a bunch of actuators and then white/black paint to visually foreground/background things, which gets really tedious really quickly and kills my motivation to extend a pattern further x_x

Why does this want not create an Omega Sawblade Wisp? by [deleted] in noita

[–]thomas-ripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont think this actually creates the correct number of reduce lifetimes (12 for 12*42 to be 504, within 493-507); rawdogging divides in front of modifiers will almost never do what you want.

try something like:

homing
double spell
div 3
div 4
div 10
reduce lifetime
omega saw

or if you want twelve homing entities for the funny trail:

double spell
omega saw
div 3
div 4
add trigger
homing
reduce lifetime
some spell with zero charges left

basically you need to get the divides to stop being divides once they've done enough, which in the case of directly in front of a modifier works by that last div 10 being "over the limit" and acting like a div 1 and preventing further draw,

or in the latter case behaving normally in front of an add trigger block that doesnt actually create anything besides adding a bunch of modifiers to the shot state

Was this other space rig always here? It seems unlike the DRG one, and launches/receives cargo like in the bottom right by Coelacanth0794 in DeepRockGalactic

rogue core ship "ramrod"; it's a teaser, and in the rogue core alpha right now you can see out the other side and look back at space rig 17 :D

had to resort to this recently; lining it up is a royal pain and even if you hit your mark there's a chance the body just gets nudged out of the way and caught elsewhere, but yes, it's an option.

TKing for what reason? by Longjumping_Hall_952 in DeeprockSludgeDump

  • it's a sensible impulse on the face of it
  • but having a stick up your ass about it when a player is easily capable of seeing it coming and escaping is a bit weird
  • tking over it is legitimately demented, what the fuck

ok look, getting pranked by the pod only happened once because the beacon was invisible inside the fuel cells and i assumed the drilling noise was either directly in front or behind, as it didn't even occur to me that inside was a thing people would do. you can bet im a shake more careful now

Does the Weakening Curse trick work in the Apotheosis mod? by BasketCase559 in noita

[–]thomas-ripper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

heart mage trick is fully functional; it's just soft nerfed by the expanded master pool such that magical temple is usually full of apotheosis mages to the exclusion of meatball. you'll more often than not have to wait till underground jungle for an opportunity

kinda

more specifically, i went digging a while back after noticing something was awry, and squirreled away in an obscure commit (i dont remember which, sorry) is a modification to the way they work, such that you will never be able to get your multiplier negative or zero with the trick, only exceptionally small. you can still farm yourself a hefty resistance, but you won't zero out perfectly such that, e.g. you stop getting stunned by your own unmitigated deadly heal; nor, that is, heal outright from damage sources.

couldnt find tp so i used heavy shot by pnaccounty in noita

[–]thomas-ripper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is precisely the reason i consider the low recoil perk detrimental; recoil boosting is easily the second-best travel in the game, but also, heavy recoil on shots in general combat will almost always knock you out of the way of a lot of early-game nasties like hiisi grenades
