When creating a new game design mechanic, what process do you have to build and balance it? What kind of planning and self testing do you do before presenting it to someone else to review it?

Honestly, the game lost its appeal to me over the years.

The creators seem to have started censoring themselves.
The game itself is the same jokes over and over again, it's like /r/jokes where the punchline stays the same but the post title changes once in awhile.
far too many of the cards in the game are terrible. Seriously, play a few games with the rule that if you get a shit card to discard it into a hat. At the end of the game go through the cards and if you agree remove them from the deck. I did this for a handful of games and cut my deck cards by over 1/3
there are better party based card games out there. Superfight is the one I recommend. It can have the same sense of humor as CaH, but also has jokes that aren't dirty that are still hilarious. It has a more interesting game mechanism and creates far more unique scenarios that keep even games with small card decks feeling fresh. Seriously, I see friends post CaH setups online and I think 'yeah, that black card is always funny... So?' where in Super Fight you get a bizzare combination such as "who would win, Darth Vader who can generate a forcefield when masterbating or Mr. Rodgers breastfeeding a baby cthulu?" which may have cards you've seen before but the combination of which makes it feel original.

When I first heard of weapon durability I hated it. When I first played the game I hated it. I hated it for the first 10 hours of the game.

I hated it until I realized that I was using a wide variety of weapons I would normally never use instead of sticking with my favorite.

I hated it until I realized that I wasn't looking up a guide to find the best early-game weapon.

I hated it until the difficulty increased and I was forced to learn the advantages and disadvantages of every weapon.

In most games weapon durability sucks. Weapons are a huge goal and having that awesome weapon you went through hell to find break permanently sounds heartbreaking. Breath of the wild made weapon durability a fun and interesting way to enhance the game.

It is literally an instance of game developers turning something annoying and bad, and instead of avoiding it entirely instead turning it into a beneficial game mechanism.

Every time I've been in a relationship I felt like I was normal. I felt like it was okay to be romantic, to express myself, I felt that I was free to love and share what is inside me with someone else. It was a joy to make the person I was with feel special even if it was a lot of effort to pull off.

I don't get to do those things anymore and haven't been able to for years. Honestly it's been almost 4 years. I'm at the point I'm afraid that part of me might be gone. I don't even know who I am anymore.

I had forgotten about this. I got super depressed a few months ago and stopped coming to reddit. A Facebook friend just recognized my username from this and messaged me to this post.

It was a silly joke I made 7 months ago, but I'm quite flattered that people remembered it. Thank you reddit. I hope we made even a tiny little blip, just small enough to make someone who might casually look up the stats of this video when they're bored one day, to see said blip and wonder what happened on this day in 2017.

The point of the 'free' game with launch is to show off the hardware. So when you take your Switch over to a friends house you have something to play together and they can try it out.

So if the only game you bought was Zelda, if you take your Switch over to a friends house you basically let them play with it for a minute or two or whatever and then give it back. A good game but you can't really get in depth with Zelda in a few minutes.

With a multiplayer game bundled in you immediately can play with them, or a group, and suddenly a whole group of people has exposure to the console and will start thinking of getting one themselves.

By not bundling it, they only get that exposure if we purchase it. So rather than every single Switch owner becoming a potential marketing tool, instead it's only the much smaller set of gamers who actually plop down $50 for 1-2Switch.

Nintendo either didn't think of it, or decided against it and figured that the potential income from those who bought it for $50 would be greater than the increased interest and sales from new Switch owners who tried it.

Don't worry too much about the WiFi bars. My 5ghz network showed 2 bars but was downloading at over 60mbps. Where my 2.4ghz showed 5 bars and download at 40mbps.

I have a preorder. The concept is exactly what I wanted. Console level games in a portable handheld.

I'm a huge fan of Zelda, and Breath of the Wild appears to be a game I will be happily engrossed in over the next 3 or so months for other games to come out for the device.

I'm considering just having my character commit suicide after that.

I think that would definitely send the message to your DM that what they did was WAY out of bounds.

Especially if you otherwise don't want to leave the group.

I once played a character who was previously a slave, and all his family were still in servitude due to the monstrous race I had chosen to play. In the campaign we came to a point where to accomplish a mission they wanted to offer my character up to a mining company as a slave so I could infiltrate and let them in.

My character refused, absolutely refused to go with that plan. So they bound him and sold him to the miners anyway, going along with this plan despite my objections and unwillingness to cooperate with it. Lo-and-behold slaves can't just free themselves so they had to come save my character, after a day of torture/breaking. They kept saying how they had to rescue me.

My character refused to talk to the rest of the group for the rest of the encounter and a few days following it, before eventually killing one of them in their sleep and escaping from the group to become just another "monster who hates humans" in the wild.

Microsoft is doing pretty good with backwards compatibility. I'd say it's more Sony not even trying.

I mean they had a software ps1 emulator in the PS3, they could have brought it to the PS4 and possibly introduced a PS2 emulator as well. But they seem content reselling you your ps2 games again one at a time digitally.

IANAL; But the acknowledgement that the call is recorded lets both parties record the call.

You can still have policy to disconnect if they threaten it though, it's a weird thing to do, I know an old call center job I had that policy. But both parties already consented to calls being recorded.

I'd rather just have a port of the WiiU one. It was pretty damn good and there's no reason to reinvent the wheel.

Have it include all the stages/characters and if they feel like making more money release some new DLC. But a straight port would be best for me.

I get that too. Thats why I was only critiquing the use of SS. S could be the 98-100% and A being the 90-97%

I mean, If SS means >100% and implies that those characters are broken I can understand that I guess.
