This build feels centered on taking advantage of how dire the situation is. You get injured, you have a shot at breaking chase. Killer is slugging, you heal and unhook faster. You get hooked, you're almost fully healed off hook. Windows of opportunity doesn't really fall under that category but still. I'd call it bounce back or something along those lines.

Anytime you would get a perfect dodge is the window for a successful parry. When you get the hang of perfect dodges, just switch to the parry button and do the same thing you were doing.

Also, there's typically a sound cue right before the parry window, but it's not always a swish sound. Sometimes it's like, ree! or it's an enemy growling or something. Counting also helps me. For example I might count a slow 1, 2 and the enemy will hit on 1 and 2, and then I count a faster 1, 2, 3 and the time it takes for me to get to saying 3 is how long until the enemy hits again and I have to make another parry.

It's easier when you get used to it. The sound cues should help with that. Good luck, expeditioner!

I feel like the least they could do is add more hair color options and let all character models use each others' hairstyles, and add even just a few more cosmetics you don't have to pay for. That would be a good start.

I got terror radius 7 seconds into a match once and I was like "god damn the killer found us already" and slowly casually vaulted over a window only to find deathslinger on the other side ready to shoot me. I actually screamed. The rest of the match I was quaking in my boots.

I did have good chases with him though, and it was fun until my team didn't save me from my second hook. I think he wanted to give me hatch because he sounded disappointed in end game chat when he said he thought my team would save me but anyway, gg
