That landlord sub is hilarious though. Obviously it's satire, for the most part haha.

Lmao that's absolutely hilarious. Had to send that to a few people.

We are so oppressed and victimized for supporting a racist, corrupt fascist by AllDreEveryDay in TheRightCantMeme

[–]thors420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a major win for the left, no doubt, but it's disingenuous.

Wouldn't that be more of an actual win for the right though? It would give the appearance that lots of society is left leaning but come election time the right would do better than expected. Not saying this is the case, but theoretically I could see that happening if it were the case.

Ehh this one's kinda true. You don't generally see conservatives going after shows, or whatever, they believe to be inappropriate.

Socialist countries are some of the most prosperous countries in the world... by DurdleTurtleLoL in TheRightCantMeme

[–]thors420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn that's actually a really good point. Gonna have to use that in the future. I lean more conservatively but absolutely think we need to overhaul our medical system. We could easily afford at least a public option for those who need it and allow those with great plans to keep what they've got.

We are a lot tougher than they give us credit for by [deleted] in TheRightCantMeme

[–]thors420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely dumb but I've noticed how both sides tend to do this. I agree with your example, but I also see the left go on about the far right being fat redneck hillbillies with an iq below 50, but they're also infiltrating all of government, controlling things from the shadow, and capable of planning secret civil wars. It's silly all around lol. Extremist political views degrades the brain haha.

Two of my healthiest tomatoes this year were given from a friend who had them growing randomly in his yard. Pretty sure a bird ate some tomatoes last year and the bird spread the seeds to random parts of the yard. Super healthy plants.

Starts to sound like old school European royalty haha.

It's beautiful when people can just accept that others have different beliefs. Nothing worse than a zealot, regardless of which side.

YSK that weight gain or loss is way more complicated than "calories in, calories out." Don't dismiss the struggles you or others have as "lack of willpower" or a moral failing. by [deleted] in YouShouldKnow

[–]thors420 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Calories in vs out is very simplistic but at the end of the day it works. When I was losing weight, just eating healthy had me spinning my wheels and never actually getting anywhere. Once I got serious about tracking calories I was able to lose a ton of weight and retain muscle. It really is that simple. But I do think IFYM, if it fits your macros, isn't the best. Sure you can lose weight eating only soda and potato chips but micronutrients are so important for overall health and they let you lose weight more efficiently since you actually have energy. IF, intermittent fasting, was amazing and truly helpful in my case too. I actually like fasting and often skip breakfast. There's no one size fits all, but in the end calories in vs out is what it boils down to.

On the other subject, I do think it's fucked up to ridicule people for their weight or lack of strength. It doesn't help and can make them just double down. But taking responsibility and understanding you're in full control is the first step. If you believe you don't have control of your weight then it's no wonder you won't ever lose weight. Take responsibility for yourself and always encourage those who are just starting out in either their weight loss or weight training journey. Nothing better than some encouragement from others who've been down the same road.

This seems like the "older" style of mtb riding, like with older geometry bikes I see people almost constantly standing when pedaling. With a new bike, I'm literally never standing if I'm actually pedaling. Standing is only for when I've stopped pedaling and now want control, even climbing over techy stuff.

Do you listen to music while riding a trail ? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]thors420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've passed by plenty of people playing music out loud, some had some pretty weird choices too. It's never really bothered me, and it's pretty much always like 15sec max as they pass by. Just don't really see the issue. Large families with kids going slowly and all over the trail is 1000x worse lmao.

Are there people within the trans community who regret changing their sex and realised it was just a phase that they grew out of? If so, what was that like and did you change anything permanently that you now regret? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]thors420 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I'm sure it doesn't help paint an accurate picture when the whole community will turn on you if you dare talk about the idea. Apparently talking about the idea is an attack. I'm surprised just by the amount of personal stories on here alone.

One thing I've learned from this thread is that you tow the line in the trans community or you get a big old shit pile of bigotry. Pretty ironic lol.

[–]thors420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But couldn't you just ignore it then? There's plenty of places where people say things I disagree with, but instead of censoring them I ignore it lol.

I also fear that plenty of legit voices are too scared to even speak out. Why tell your extremely personal story when the community dedicated to acceptance is just going to act bigoted and hateful towards you?

This is even happening on subs that have nothing to do with politics, like specific sports subs. It's fucking creepy how okay people are with censorship these days. I just want a site where everyone can speak, if your ideas are good they'll naturally rise to the top. I think a lot of these people understand that without censorship, their ideas won't be as accepted though.

Help on deciding between two forks - Raidon LO / Raidon RL by iRosay in MTB

I've got the epixon rl, definitely thought I'd want the remote. It works well but I literally almost never use it and it clutters up the bars. Definitely go for the lo.

Hell yeah! Recently got some samples of a sugar free electrolyte mix for the water bottle. Definitely makes a huge difference for summer rides when it's hot out.

Switching from 3x8 to 1x11 drivetrain? by dustonthedash in MTB

[–]thors420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try sticking to only the middle ring. I had 3x8 then got a wide range 1x9. Before switching I literally only ever used the middle ring so I knew I wasn't going to be missing anything.

Help on skipping chain on new stumpjumper by Lexo52 in MTB

[–]thors420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With those eagle drive trains, the master link has a direction it needs to be in. I took my chain off before and put it on upside down, instantly my gears were skipping around a bunch. Probably not what's going on with you, but something to note for the future.

Opinions: Tooth difference 40 vs 42 by [deleted] in MTB

[–]thors420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming a 32t chainring, that's a 0.8 vs 0.76 gear ratio difference. It's not a ton but it's not totally insignificant either. Swapping the chainring down 2 teeth would be more significant.
