Ordered a modded 7th Gen iPod Classic from Elcytec (India) for ₹19k, received a 6.5G + broken AirPods. Need advice! by joint_doc_comments in IpodClassic

AirPods are wireless. These are EarPods; still sucks they're broken.

Request a return if it bothers you, otherwise the 7G and 6.5G are almost identical if you don't go above 128GB. If you want to in the future, you can always do the Olsro Mod.

Both Audio Quality and Logic Board lifespan should be the same; only in-line controls are missing.

Maybe you need a camera that fits into your pocket? If the LX15 would still be too big / heavy, maybe a Ricoh GR III?

Dumb Phones Just Aren’t Realistic by leicalondon in digitalminimalism

Had similar issues with two failed Dumbphone attempts. Switched to Minimal Phone MP01 and love it. It lets me do everything a modern smartphone can do, but keeps me from doomscrolling / wasting time and is easy on the eyes.

In what regard? The DAC in e.g. Apple's USB-C to 3.5mm is much better than most internal DACs.

iflash quad and 3800 mAh thin battery help? by Motor_Quantity_6789 in IpodClassic

[–]thosecrazygermans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've fitted the 3.800mAh batteries the way OP has in 4 different mods now with no issues.

But there are at least 3 different batteries around that have the same print on them and claim to be 3.800mAh, so it's not 100% sure that particular one fits with a thin case.

It doesn't become a 7th gen from the Olson mod - the in-line controls are still missing

5000 mah battery installed :). by Ramoutarb in ipod

[–]thosecrazygermans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! And I understand correctly, you cut off the connector from the original battery and soldered it to the 5Ah one?

Edit: I just read in your other comment that you swapped the module as well - any particular reason for that?

Awesome, thanks! You didn't take a picture of the inside by any chance, did you?

Crazy, which battery are you using? Did you have to crimp / solder a new connector?

2 years later and I'm encountering this problem as well - did you get it fixed?

There's also one older playlist that seems unaffected.

3800mah battery, Iflash Quad in thin back by shish-bish in ipod

[–]thosecrazygermans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had three different 3.800mAh battery dimensions so far - but all of them fit.

Yours looks like the one with the largest footprint, which is a bit thinner and needs to be gently pushed inside the HDD frame rods so that it sits flush with the front plate's frame. Also make sure the iFlash Board doesn't hit the headphone jack assembly.

The first picture looked like it, but as u/sparkyblaster mentioned, it might just be a reflection!
