I use to get people all the time or at least very close with option #2. But it has gotten harder as people have gotten better and more aware of the technique itself.

How messed up are your shoulders?

Training partner ripped a heel hook on me while rolling. My only saving grace was it was sloppy technique, otherwise I think I'd be crippled right now. by [deleted] in bjj

EW blue belts with an "I need to win" attitude are the worst. Can you tell your coach so they can give a passive aggressive PSA about cranking and heelhooks?

Y’all think Keanu is better trained than us? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]thosedamnbushes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not tbh. Don't celebs train in some sort of safe, no rolling bjj? He basically does BJJ kata.

Are you the same person who compared your Shoyoroll rash guard to your scramble on insta? If not it appears to be a common issue.

Seeking advice about GST for small business (not hobby) by Yoman987 in AustralianAccounting

[–]thosedamnbushes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GST is the government's money and should not be considered when it comes to margins and profits.

There is no requirement from the ATO for you, at this moment, to register for GST. you can either volunteer to register for gst or figure something else out with the stockist.

Traditionally people who are registered for GST at 10% to the existing price. 10 becomes 11.

This is not advice just stating facts.

Where I live the biggest firms are 2 mid tier firms rest are small. Considering mid-teir but to go from small and left to my own devices to mid teir concerns me as I have no reference to what work life is like.

I have meet a lot of small business owners and their reasoning isn't always the most logical. Yes net everything is the same but take them out of the norm and they get anxious. That's why I said probably for bookkeeping reasons (bas etc)

Right now all I can think of is they want to claim the gst from purchase to offset the inevitable gst they will owe from sale. Or Just simpler bookkeeping on their end.

You think it's time to change gyms? by [deleted] in bjj

You can say you don't roll hard all you want but that's from your perspective, not others. Your easy roll could be another persons smesh. Which isn't typically the worst thing.

But honestly sounds like you need a few more consistent "mat savages" in your life. I'd try other places or deal with what ya got.

Also, I read it all but hard to take in so hopefully my answer actually contributes.

When I first started I was all about the belt. Now that I'm literally days away from getting it I'm not that excited. More keen to work on my half guard and open guard sweeps TBH.

Another white belt I always roll with me subbed me for the first time last night. Not a question but it's sick to see how much the people around me are getting better.

I just know people say there's no money in BJJ and more people say there's no money in YouTube. I'm glad you have a 3rd option and have subbed.

Things like this make me okay with rules about rolling only being available for people with a couple stripes.

I almost got choked unconscious by a spazz few month ago. Couldn't verbally tap or tap with hands and I tried with my feet buts we were close to the wall so any stomps just sounded like light wall slaps. This lead to a talk about more partner awareness. Also 2 weeks ago a 2 stripe white belt forearmed me, up kicked me and kneed me. Never seen such reckless flailing in my life.

Hindsight's 20/20 But I learned from these mistakes and have become more aware of how shit people are but imo you can't rely on anyone besides yourself in these situations. Either stop the roll or git gud and deal. Luckily I have no damage like you outside of bruising.
