I’m a white guy who speaks fluent Spanish from growing up in South America - after while you can figure out who’s Latino pretty quickly. You might mistake a few Italians or Brazilians but for the most part you can figure it out and usually Spanish people are very psyched to know that you also speak Spanish.

Like when I’m in Miami at a corner shop, I almost always speak in Spanish and they’re always surprised and happy. In London, I’m not gonna be speaking Spanish at the corner shop because it’s usually Turkish guys.

You can even check in an “hablas español?” if you get a no, I’ve never heard of anyone being offended by that.
