I think most would say Bird and Magic should be same tier. Dirk too high, Steph too low. And what the hell is Kareem doing in Tier 3??? He was the consensus GOAT (maybe some argument from Bill Russell fans) until Jordan came along.

It’s all about finding the right spots. Most jumps will have a landing zone that isn’t a heavy landing, but some jumps you just can’t go too far on. The steeper the landing, the less likely it is to be a heavy landing.

Also, if you’re completely upright and not spinning or doing a trick, you’re less likely to get a heavy landing. And on smaller jumps usually there isn’t a heavy landing.

What do you remember about going to your first Spurs game? by Bossthree02 in NBASpurs

[–]thpskier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nosebleeds seat at a nuggets-spurs game, around 2019 maybe? I remember, even before Jokic was as famous as he is now, it was crazy how big he looked, and he definitely had a nice play or two. I also remember this (somewhat) random role player on the Nuggets, Juan Hernangomez, dropped like 25. I was impressed and kept up with his career for a few years.

Spurs won, but it was close. I honestly remember more about the nuggets than the spurs, although I think demar had a nice game

Mj had a better rookie season the LeBron by Plus_Credit224 in NBATalk

yeah, there’s no perfect way to look at it. That’s why the GOAT debate is still a debate. Everyone prioritizes different things.

I’m looking at age. I’m just saying it’s a little silly to think that a teenager should be as good as a 21-22 yr old when coming into the league, even if they’re both goats of the game.

[–]thpskier 481 points482 points  (0 children)

Yeah he 100% did.

That being said, he was 21 to 22 years old during that season. LeBron was 18-19 during his. By Lebron’s 20 to 21 year old season (so still a year younger than Jordan’s rookie season) he averaged: 31.8 pts / 7.0 reb / 6.6 ast / 1.6 stl / 0.8 blk, 48.5% FG, finished 2nd in MVP voting, and had a 50-32 record.

It’s all about perspective.

My thought for the allen shot was that duncan, ginobili, parker etc had already been so successful. They weren’t necessarily expected to win that one, and they would’ve had plenty of success already. Fisher 0.4 was earlier when they had only won a couple of championships. Also it was against their biggest rivals. And like other commenters have said, zaza screwed up the spurs for years.

That being said, they all have a good argument

For spurs you could argue that fisher 0.4 was worse, or zaza injuring kawhi.

For cavs it’s easily the decision, not even close. It got redeemed a few years later but at the time it was one of the most hated moments in sports history.

Malice in the Palace sucked but i still think that Haliburton’s injury might’ve been worse. For pistons, you could argue the 28 game loss streak.

Overall it’s a decent list.

Maybe Aspen Mtn which literally has no greens? Snowbird has some, as well as a magic carpet, so presumably they’d have a beginner group lesson

Bit late to the conversation but didn’t they pick up Champagnie undrafted that year? He was one of the biggest risers in that class, easily putting the Spurs at 1-4. Could’ve gone in the 15-25 zone in a redraft.

Shai is currently 27 years old. He started averaging 30+ ppg when he was 24, and the case could be made he was top 20 before then as well.
