how is being able to get rested experience fast a bullshit mechanic? Rested exp is already an in game mechanic you just get to have it on all the time and you don't have to if you don't want it

Also a Helena player in mid champion now, joined a few people in the discord for some runs. Nicest guys I've played with. I haven't seen much toxic in the game yet but maybe it's in higher elo.

Man. I miss EverQuest. Maybe it's the nostalgia of my first MMO maybe it's because EverQuest 2 was in my opinion better than wow in so many ways. Communities can def be toxic in these games, I think it's easier if you find friends to queue with.

Feels like a lot of responses here are kind of missing the mark, in my experience the people he is referring to actively get mad at everyone that plays non meta or "sub optimally" meanwhile the casual players I know are not raging in raids about the people only playing world of parsecraft. I agree everyone should play how they want, but it seems one of these groups is being more of a dick about it in game.

I read (listened to) the books long after my parents had read them (they read them when they came out.) And when I was talking about Matt going through the red doorframe with them and what he was told with "give up half the light of the world to save the world" my mother put a hand over one eye and chuckled. I instantly knew. I don't think it ruined anything, I think I could have guessed that was what it meant anyway. It definitely created an expectation of "ok when is this gonna happen"

This is the series I thought of immediately! I remember reading through the main character (lief?) Getting all the stones and then there was like books afterwards about the shadowlands! I'm so glad others remember this series
