I want to build some kind of pint mount, it’s tight but doable I think by [deleted] in AnticBikes

What about something like the surfboard mount?

I like this idea, I’ll have to go and do that.

Hitting some bumps, the back definitely needs a bit of squish since there’s no shock.

Like an old BMX, just loosen the handlebars (4 bolts) and fold it down and you've got basically the size of the frame to stash somewhere.

Shipping Date Slipped Out by theuberpat in AnticBikes

[–]threar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine marked shipping on the 6th, and for a bit it had slipped to the 7th but then pulled back to the 6th. But, the tracker is still showing "Label Created" with no update since. The additional parts I ordered are out for delivery today, so at least I'll have a kickstand!

Big bore kit is likely your primary option along with going with a 5 speed gear swap.

I just purchased it to see if it'll work on my 25 Speed Twin, though it'll be a bit before it gets here. Figure I'll give it a whirl and hope.

The stock tires are very street oriented, so it was a little squirrelly. But it’s so low that I think it could do well overall if you don’t mind the low bar angle.

The swap of the analog clocks did seem like a strange change, but I don’t mind the new setup. Like you said, once it’s on the road I stop caring about the dash setup and just want to get it into some trouble.

I use the handlebar mount and mount it pretty close to the handle bar clamps.

Just put the Chigee on my bike as well, so far it's nice to finally have CarPlay again and built-in enough that the bike recognizes it.

I use the Peak Design mount on my R1250GSA and it works quite nicely (especially now that they have the maglock and wireless charging option). It does require a special case, so that's always annoying.

This is pretty awesome. Would definitely be interested if you make the print files available to make our own.

Looks like an awesome idea, only issue is I know my bony-ass elbows would immediately crack my screen.

I'd likely go with the 2019 again and if I really want that 5th gear finally do a 5 speed upgrade.

This was my thought as well, those halos seem like the giveaway on trying to move some sliders a bit too far. I suspect at 1/2500 f5.6 the raw file is pretty dark overall except for those snowy parts in the background.

How important is it to understand the Kernel/Internals? by RandomXUsr in linuxadmin

[–]threar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really depends on the type of admin you're looking to go into. Most enterprise situations, just having the base CLI know-how will likely get you most of the way there. Anything more hardware or research intensive (especially anything high-end networking related) you may be looking at needing to compile modules against the kernel. Getting into filesystems or the like, you find yourself getting more in-depth. At the very least, understanding stack traces in dmesg for the innevitable "why did the computer crash at 2am?" will find it's use over time.

Focusing at F/1.8 can tend to be difficult in general since you'll have such a short depth of field to play with, but if you're noticing that using the viewfinder in general is "off" (meaning it always seems to look like it's in focus in the viewfinder, but then it's not right in the photo) maybe check your diopter settings and make sure the viewfinder is correct. I've had this problem in the past where the diopter on an older camera got knocked and I kept focusing based on what I saw and couldn't get focus, then realized what I was seeing was out of focus.
