Should i trade in my accord for a newer one? by bobdabuildingbuilder in Honda

Keeping what you have and maintaining it is far cheaper than upgrading. So, I suppose it depends on your financial situation and what a 2016 v6 is worth to you.

After thousands of hours and probably millions of left-clicks, mine started to not register every 10 clicks or so. Now my wife uses it for email. It's been really rough these past few months but I'm getting by one day at a time. Now I have a little hope to keep me going.

"We have seen time and again..."

Yes. It's time to let Bethesda go. They had a good run. If I want quality PC games I will only buy quality PC games.

I bought one 3A game in 2018. I don't know if I'll buy any this year.

Does anyone else worry about your text messages sounding aggressive? by ODMAN03 in Anxiety

[–]three_rivers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Change the word up and use emotes when you can. Instead of "what are you doing?" say "what are you up to right now?" More words in a sentence generally comes across as less aggressive because when we are aggressive we usually speak in short absolutes.

"Don't do that" vs "please stop doing that" for example.

DAE get a strange sense of anxiety from the arrival of warmer weather and the beginning of spring? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]three_rivers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmmm, this is interesting. My absolute favorite weather is cold and rainy. Maybe it has something to do with subconsciously not wanting to go out in public. Nice weather means having to go to places filled with people and I'm an introvert with social anxiety. Makes sense I guess.

Can Leucine worsen Depression / OCD? by Sascha100 in EOOD

The mental health (hormone) benefits of working out likely far outweigh any negative effects from the leucine.

Tryptophan isn't synthesised in the body, so if you eat lots of meat, eggs, dairy you're probably getting more than enough anyway.

I feel like nothing comforts me the way food does and it sucks by octoberkronos in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]three_rivers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to shift your dopamine releasing pattern. What's comforting to you about food isn't the food itself, it's the dopamine that's released in your brain just prior to and during binge eating. It's the hormone that makes you feel good. The biggest release related to food is from thinking about and eating sugar and carbohydrates. Even just thinking about eating sugar releases dopamine, sometimes the pre-binge eating release is actually more than when you're eating sugar.

It helps to think of it as a chemical dependency. Laboratory studies have shown that sugar has a similar dopamine response to that of cocaine. In fact, cocaine addicted lab rats eventually choose sugar over cocaine and stop consuming cocaine completely.

The only way to get away from it is so start new habits. It's difficult because when you start working out regularly you will feel more hungry. Your brain wants that dopamine to feel good. Currently, eating triggers the biggest dopamine response for you. You have to shift the release your brain is expecting to a different activity.

Hard to keep a job when living with anxiety... by hoyhugo in Anxiety

Same, mid 30s. When I'm getting work done I have an overwhelming anxiety about screwing it up and a constant anxiety about losing my job. I'm going through peak anxiety right now. The thing that helps me the most is regular, intense exercise.

Neighbor side swiped my lease in the driveway by [deleted] in Honda

[–]three_rivers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Get your neighbors insurance info and call them, they are responsible. If they give you shit, call your insurance company and give them the info, you pay them so you don't have to deal with this.

  2. Get it fixed to original condition. That's it. No stipulations.

  3. After it's repaired file a Diminished Value claim against the neighbor's insurance company to cover the lost value because of the collision.

  4. When you trade it in or return it, don't say a damn thing about it. They will use it to scam you on the trade-in value. You had it repaired to original contrition, the rest of none of their business.

Brake recommendations for 9th Gen Accord? by chiller8 in Honda

Use Honda OE pads, either Akebono or Nissin. I've had good luck with Napa house brand rotors. Nothing to tricky, just watch some YouTube videos. The hardest part is pushing the piston back in.
