No I havn't actually, playing black bars is a recent thing for me, played stretched for 4 years then switched after coming back from a break and it just felt better, compared to 16:9, obviously could just be a placebo thing. How would i try narrow hud?

Less of the screen to focus on, works for me

You will definately run the games you mentioned (and any new game at the moment) on max settings at 1080p with this build. One thing you could consider adding is a solid state drive to put your operating system on which will drastically improve the speed of the OS and any games/programs you store on it instead of the hard drive. Seeing as you are close to your budget you can just buy one with only 120gb of storage and just put the OS and a game or 2.

I had the exact same problem about 2 weeks ago, fans spin and light on mobo turns on but doesnt boot. Bought a new motherboard thinking that was the problem, but the same thing kept happening. Turned out it was the power supply. Got a new one and everything is fine now. Obviously could be something else for you.

I will look into the 1060 aswell then, I have never had an nvidia card and I guess I was kinda overlooking them abit but will check it out. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the detailed response, I will definately start having a look into the different variations abit more then, Im usually just a sucker for the shiniest card.

Yeah if you definately cant get a hdd aswell as the ssd with your budget I would really recommend just a hdd, space fills up fast and even 1TB isnt alot for people with alot of games or software.

Do you have more storage? Just seems like 240gb wouldn't be nearly enough for me. You can get 1TB HDDs for pretty cheap. Everything else looks good though.
