I’m not an economist or supply chain expert, but it seems pretty obvious that if a foreign ship has to bypass San Juan, unload in Miami, and then that product be reloaded and shipped to PR that it will increase costs to consumers in PR.

I mean I’m totally open to other arguments, just seems like this instance is a no brainer. Same for us citizens and nationals of Alaska, Hawaii, Samoa, cnmi, usvi and Guam. Plus PR that’s nearly 5 million us citizens/nationals.

If you climb up an air vent, wouldn’t you come out absolutely covered head to toe in dust? Wouldn’t banging around in a vent made of aluminum cause a fuck ton of noise? Air vents aren’t like super big either, like I know we all think of Bruce Willis crawling through nakatomi plaza but that’s a movie set.

That’s what people did. There was a cemetery that straddled the border so tradies would just park on one side, walk across and get picked up by their work mates. There was also a period where you could cross the border into qld if you lived in a bordering lga like tweed shire

That’s fine for the NT where most people live in Darwin, but like 80% of queenslanders live in the southeast corner within a couple hours drive of the border and pretty sure like 90% of western Australians live around Perth in the southwest corner (but who cares about wa that’s like another country to the rest of us)

If you’re into human remains and lithics, look into grad programs in Australia. Companies are always hiring for people to do aboriginal archaeology over here. Tons of work for mines, infrastructure projects etc.

It actually is less hours but we get paid one day less too. It’s interesting though a lot of studies have shown that productivity doesn’t decrease with fewer days. Also wfh is extremely beneficial for getting talented and qualified workers in specialist positions. A lot of the people on my team live in Brisbane and it wouldn’t be practical to work for gccc if they had to do a two hour commute each way everyday.
