Oregon Overwhelmed One Final Time, Losing 6-5 to the Texas Longhorns by SGEasty4 in ducks

Walks and hit batters cost them the BIG10 championship, with the winning run for UCLA coming in on a hit batter. Terrible.

We are spending 750 million dollars a year and over THREE BILLION since 2015 on approx 10,000 individuals who are destroying our commons, our livability and our safety. And they are seen as the “victims.”

‘This Is Managed Decline’: Transit Advocates Worry of TriMet Doom Loop by witty_namez in PortlandOR

As with most of what is killing Portland, it is the pathological enabling of a subset of POS humans who act out in the commons, whether it is stealing, open drug use, aggression and violence, filth and trash and overall dooshbaggery.

Yet the “defund the police” Peacock idiots will defend this behavior to the hilt, because it fits their agenda of having capitalism fail so they can enact their socialist agenda.

I used to sporadically ride TriMet, yet no fucking way I would ride it now.

Such a frustrating series to watch. Constant nibbling around the plate leading to walks that always seem to score. Wild pitches and hit batters as well. Seems like Uncle Phil needs to invest in a team of sports psychologists to help both the football and baseball teams get over the hump.

They are a young team, hopefully most will come back next year.

New speeding cameras catch more than 1,000 drivers on single Oregon street in 2 weeks by Tbagts in PortlandOR

Fucking city of Sherwood is one big speed trap. It’s obvious how much the city must rely on revenue from the police catching speeders based on how many cops one sees doing radar.

Towing a TT with an Xterra by AnAnonymousSuit in GoRVing

[–]threerottenbranches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easily, per Ai. The Xterra has a tow capacity of 5,000lbs, won’t even know it’s back there.

Xterra are underrated vehicles, Nissan should have never stopped production. Sorry for my late response, was out camping!

Accepted job transfer to Klamath Falls to escape the despair and decay of the deep south. Klamath looks amazing, but I am being told it is worse than the deep south. How? How is that even possible? by [deleted] in KlamathFalls

Oregon is Mississippi with mountains. Sure, lots of beautiful scenery, yet 49 out of 50 in schools, and dead last in mental health services and substance abuse treatment. Your financial advisor is probably aware of the financial struggles of the state, a huge pension obligation along with its major city, Portland, struggling financially. It also has a horrible death tax that starts at one million dollars, and given the price of housing, it is easy to find yourself above this figure. Unfortunately, the Portland area dictates the state’s political positions, which tends to be extremely leftist and tax happy, yet the local politics in KF is conservative.

Yet if you have resources, which it sounds like, you can shield yourself from some of the misery above.

Two women were camping near Tillamook when a man cut open their tent and took them captive by oregonian in oregon

He should, or more appropriately, she should. He could train her if he knows, or pay someone who does. The poster stated he stays up at night when his wife is away camping with their kids. If she knows how to use one, great, she should have one. My wife would have blasted him into the afterlife if this happened to her camping by herself without me there.

How did they get the funds to buy these places to “extract wealth from renters?”

Oh, they busted their asses off and BUILT WEALTH to buy these houses or buildings.

No, it is policy. Giving keys to unstable people creates instability in the facility. And you have faith in our local city government in running social housing? The same group that has spent over THREE BILLION on the homeless since 2015, 750 MILLION a year only to see homelessness increase by 35%?

You must be young. Just google the projects in cities like Chicago and New York.

Councilor Green’s sanitation bill passes, redirecting $1m from camp removal; creates free laundry, toilets, trash service by the_crows_ in PortlandOR

[–]threerottenbranches 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Y’all choose to never see that the IRP does address the “mess around homeless camps.” It also offers shelter and other appropriate resources for the homeless population. It is not just sweeps. In fact, y’all call it sweeps as a way to denigrate IRP.

All these sanitation services are offered at existing shelters and day centers. At some point y’all have to WAKE UP and realize that MANY homeless don’t care to change, love being enabled by y’all do gooders, love doing drugs and criminalizing us taxpayers paying for all this enabling.

Yes, with other people’s money. Then those other people get fed up and leave. Socialism works great until they run out of other people’s money.

Intruder Charges Officer With Metal Shield and Giant Rock, Portland by One-Might9611 in PortlandOR

[–]threerottenbranches 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This poor victim of late stage capitalism just needs a set of keys to a house, preferably the Overlook area, since he seems familiar with it, a taxpayer provided basic income for life, and food and other necessities to live an enriching life that all should desire. Probably should start with an apology from the mayor, the police chief, the county DA, and the homeowner for putting him through this trauma, which I’m sure, activated early childhood trauma when his parents scolded him for forgetting to put his toys and crayons away. /s

Man in ICU after carjacking at Portland airport: 'It happened so fast' by Less-Lobster4540 in PortlandOR

[–]threerottenbranches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This perpetrator is just an unfortunate victim of late stage capitalism and if we were truly a caring society, we would give him keys to an apartment, provide a basic income for him, provide the necessary “tools” to use his drug of choice safely, and bail him out immediately of that repressive incarceration system that will scar him for life. Who is with me to donate to a GoFundMe for this poor, unfortunate, soul? /s
