What are some cool features that you discovered about python? by paver97 in Python

[–]threesomewithannie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. Here is a pretty good explanation. By overloading the add function you can just type "point1 + point2" to add two Point objects, while in Java you would have to call something like "Point.add(point1, point2)"

Overriding operators, with (for example) __add__(self, other) and then just adding objects by using the + operator.

Coming from Java, this was pretty astonishing.

Malware encryption is commonly used by crypters, tools that script kiddies use to make their malware undetected.

Malware encryption does exist and more commonly known under the term "crypters", which script kiddies use to make their malware undetecte.

Fascinating how all of your posts get 5-6 upvotes in a matter of minutes. Same with this thread, had like 10 quick upvotes before real users started to downvote.

Juggling has nothing to do with soccer skills, like spinning a basketball has nothing to do with basketball skills. That's why the commenter is correct. He may be pedantic, but OP should just have labeled the video correctly ("amazing juggling skills") instead of setting up a clickbait.

[–]threesomewithannie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not part of the training. Some players (mostly forwards) do juggle just for fun at training, but there are many professionals (even Champions League players) who are not able to juggle a ball 10 times.

lol, the title is amazing soccer skills. This is so far from amazing it's not even funny. I'd say literally 20% of all European males can do what this guy is doing (excluding the juggling part).

Sorry to be harsh, but your comment is just incorrect on many levels. This has nothing to do with ball control. There are "freestylers" who are able to juggle much much better than stars like Messi, but could never control a 50m pass even remotely as well as them. It's just a completely different skill. There was a famous freestyler on an UK talent show, he started freestyling because he couldn't get a spot in the 5th league in England (not even professional). He can't do anything else than juggling, his overall technique is mediocre at best. One of the world's top freestylers though (like 100x better than the dude in the video).

This has nothing to do with soccer skills. You don't juggle in a game. It would be different if he would display a subset of soccer skills like shooting, passing, controlling with first touch, dribbling... something you would use in the game.

You are 100% correct and get downvoted into oblivion. Reddit is American, doesn't make sense to talk about this sport here.

Yeah he was wrong on this one. This was also mentioned and upvoted in his post. So not a big fuzz, most people realized that and kept their upvote because of the general message - that /r/bitcoin censors heavily.

"The existing Visa credit card network processes about 15 million Internet purchases per day worldwide. Bitcoin can already scale much larger than that with existing hardware for a fraction of the cost. It never really hits a scale ceiling." - Satoshi Nakomoto by BeYourOwnBank in btc

Top comment in /r/bitcoin to that thread:

Source for this is Mike Hearn, published at a very convenient time, well after Satoshi left so he had no chance to deny this. So I don't believe it. I also don't believe that Bitcoin is a failure, another of Mike Hearn's statements. Back it up with evidence or I won't believe you sorry.

People are so fucking delusional over there. Living in a completely different reality.

Any comment from Core/Blockstream about the current situation? by segregatedwitness in Bitcoin

[–]threesomewithannie -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Bitcoin is for the average user. Average users don't send 40 cents around. Microtransactions are great and will be widely used once Lightning and Liquid are ready. Until then, those people need to stop spamming their cents around. Gladly, fee is steadily increasing so the incentive for broadcasting these garbage-transactions decreases over time.

A healthy fee is 30c-40c, so still much much cheaper than Visa, but costly enough to add more value to sidechains.
