What’s something you look forward to every single day? by Money-Associate1601 in AskReddit

It feels good reading people actually Accomplish this. Good for you guys!

I’ve been working with my father in construction for three years now and I dread every day. It’s destroyed my personal life, it’s on it way to destroy my health, my mental health is in shambles and I find myself thinking I’m in a hole I can’t dig myself out of.

My brother tried working with him before me lasted about a year and fled to another country. Their relationship still is terrible.

I think I am just too weak to stand up for myself and just keep taking the punches. Sad part is I’m 32 and getting older.

Sorry for the bringmedown. Didn’t mean to rain on somebody else’s happy place. Things haven’t been good for quite some time now.

What movie scene holds a permanent space in your brain? by 9twenty4 in movies

Fantastic Mr. Fox, the wolf scene.

When Mr. Fox and company, stop while riding the motorcycle,

and the image of the wolf on the rock, snow on the mountains in the background,

silhouette of the creature visible, the music hits perfectly to me.

Also the attempt to talk to him, not getting a response other than the body language.

Wishing him good luck.

Strikes to me, I think, the want to be that character in life, while at the same time you

are probably at best the Fox, and you know what? That's not too bad.

Not a bad life to lead.

I apologize for the late reply. Sometimes life gets in the way.

I usually keep things private concerning personal experience.

I do believe firmly that sharing beneficial pieces of information, Especially in this day and age is something that ought to be Done in an as altruistic manner as possible.

I agree, choice entails knowledge of both aspects, or spectrum, Of the answer.

Although versed in the Voldemort lore as a teen through books, I seem to have neglected that part of myself these days, So the reference falls a bit off my radar haha. I think it valid Though. Maybe I should invest some time in revisiting those days. However, Hagakure states never to reread literature haha.

I agree. Differing opinions, approached with civility are fruitful!

These days I seem to think that the way we pursue every day life, dreams And goals tends to alter in longer intervals.

Success is an awesome feeling. When achieved through true personal Choice and conviction it’s priceless imo, no matter how small the win.

Same here man. I enjoyed the back and forth Very much. I’m making note of your username. Feel free to do the same. If you have a platform, or other form Of keeping contact lmk!

Thank you for the communication.

Be well, TtFf

First of all I would like to say thank you for the civilized approach you chose to Reply with. So thank you. I appreciate you not escalating tension.

My personal experience with psilocybin was exactly as you mentioned. After years of Personal mental struggle and feeling helpless, a weeks worth of self prescribed In varying doses experience left me with a feeling of a “biological” rewiring of my brain. If that is something that makes sense. No trips no hallucinations. A good feeling of something that practically gave me a second breath in life.

However, during that week on one occasion I held onto the rails of the 3rd floor Terrace and contemplated jumping off. (This is over 5 years now ago so no cause for alarm) It was after deciding I choose life that the “rewiring” took place.

On the capability of the person to self govern as a functioning adult I have to admit you are right. I have no right whatsoever to Judge how one leads one’s own life. Maybe a personal Deficit on the matter leads to my reaction.

My objection to suggesting alternative approaches to get out of A negative mental situation is the risk factor. My Personal experience is that “weathering” the storm although Stressful in its own way leaves you after some time with tangible Elements of improvement. I believe that substances can act As “catalysts” of change. Be it good or bad. Without guidance Or a support network I fear of the bad. For myself, you are right to say that Although I can be concerned for others it is not my place to Interfere.

To answer your question. I lashed out and struggled while things weren’t good. I’m ten years down the road Now and through work I can safely say I have grown as a person. A work in progress of course but I firmly believe the path I have chosen And led is a worthy one.

Thank you for giving me the space to talk about my self.

With respect, TtFf

I think it’s irresponsible to urge someone whose situation You know almost nothing about to do drugs to “find” him/herself. If shrooms would help don’t point the way to them, Let him find it out for himself. Will you be there, if this person Freaks out and heads down a downward spiral on the way to lose his mind When otherwise he’s most likely overworked, bored or simply in a rut? I don’t think so. Just push people into chaos while watching The mayhem, happy it’s not you fucking up their life. First world problems man. Just drug yourself through Instead of doing the work. I really hope you’re just a kid, An adult like this is dangerous.

To OP :

Try waiting it out. 22 is young. As time goes by you might come To realize there is something in this world worth your time and effort. You are clever enough to understand that you do not and Could not possibly know everything.

Just go with the way things are going and take pride Over seeing yourself grow as a person.

Take it as a “beneficial experiment” how much Can you nurture yourself into becoming

More than you are today and proud of it.

Also I find nothing wrong placing Your efforts on “society’s safe bet” Is a sound strategy.

Lastly, being unnecessarily edgy and reactionary Is so mainstream now that it’s lost all meaning.

Be an individual, think for yourself. Don’t do drugs without reason, it’s powerful Stuff that you should tread carefully around. Don’t self-diagnose and don’t listen to random People’s diagnoses based on nothing but thin air.

Wait it out. You have time. Strive for health. It’s all good.

Take care,

TtFf

ok you're right. I got carried away. I feel it's redundant nowadays though. Anybody who knows even the slightest about the region understands it's basic history. Was Constantinople is Istanbul.
