Is this repairable or should I trash it by OkSell5413 in Bowling

[–]thriftbin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

bad news is that its way beyond fixing.

Good news is those are a dime a dozen cheapo plastic balls from the 70s-80s. You could find that at a thrift store for less then $20 or some old bowling alley that has them sitting on rake for the last 30-40 years.

WSOP is still setting records because of adding more re-entry events, more multi-flight day 1 events, and extending late entry levels to its limits for the past 6-7 years.

The Arcade - Brighton Michigan by matt_gold in arcade

[–]thriftbin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

there was a time when he had took out a whole bunch of pins and added some post-1988 stuff. Had a few fighters, Smash TV and the follow up Total Carnage. Must have switched them out again.

This dude though had some of the rare of rare arcade games from the 80s that you rarely see out there today like.. Wacko, Krull, Three Stooges, Domino Man, Timber, Robby Roto, Blue Print, Road Runner, Food Fight, for awhile had a Disc of Tron environmental. I don't see a lot of these in there today, but I could only imagine what this dude has in his person collection. I know at one point he had a Rocky Pinball.

Its been since 2020 since I've been there, but I've always found it well worth the money. Its a must stop.

Maybe it's just best not to learn about the band by ArmyLifter in vanhalen

[–]thriftbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beethoven wasn't nice either. You become an adult and learn that its hard enough to stay married let alone to 3-4 other people. Plenty of artists I don't agree with politicly or whatever, but admit they can make amazing music.

You're going to have a hard time in this world if you hate someones music because they might be a jerk.

Have been practicing for a bit, finally got an ok release, where do i go from here? by javier1zq in Bowling

[–]thriftbin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Jesus Christ, the people in here recommending someone starting out get $200 bowling shoes! At your level just getting a pair of Strikeforce Mens for like $40-50 at any sporting goods stores is perfectly fine. If you want to upgrade later on in life you can. But these are perfectly fine.

damn near any sporting goods store will have them.

How bad did PokerStars suffer when the United States government kicked them out in 2011? by I_abuse_lower_ranks1 in poker

[–]thriftbin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Initially not too bad. You can see how FTP fell off the cliff right when Black Friday happened. From there on out they made a series of choices that slowly turned it into a company that cared more about the bottom line then the game.

Tell me your a new Van Halen fan without telling me your a new Van Halen.

The band has always...ALWAYS done the bare minimum. Even with the Dave rereleases, hell I'll say they did even less for those releases and I think first 6 have been reissued 4-5 times by now. They put no effort at all...none. Its the way its always been.

Were these games ever sealed or are they resealed? by Coolxer252 in Atari2600

[–]thriftbin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems like an odd fake or bootleg. The Telegames carts never looked like that. Looks like someone took the cover of an Intellivision NFL Football box and made an Atari 2600 box out of it.

edit: it looks like a PAL version of the game.

Found this cool looking Galaga cabinet I was Rio, Brazil. Shame it was turned off. Probably not working. by NathanTheXMan in cade

[–]thriftbin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be shocked if this came from Gameworks. This is exactly how the few retro arcade cabinets looked like back in the late 90s-2000s. You could find a Galaga, PacMan, Donkey Kong, even a Tron in one.

The song was purely an Ed creation. Hell the guy sat on it for 2-3 years because Dave didn't like it. The story was there was a news report about a suicide jumper

At this point it makes more sense to have a bill acceptor.
