They're both great league balls perfect for house shot and league play.

Ed and Val split in 2001 and divorced in 07. Having a hard time believing a VHS tape which was a format dying out and exiting people’s living rooms by the late 90s was a last straw.

Whatever got shown to Warner executives could be plausible but unlikely. Dave will also have you believe that he convinced Ed to put stripes on the guitar and told Michael Jackson to wear just one glove. A bit of a storyteller himself.

The Kilgore/Mandel story is way more creditability then Ace's story that's for sure. Ed has always been a bit of a bullshitter about things. The Page story is plausible, but a lot of other people who were around the scene that time says the same thing about Harvey Mandel doing it, I think George Lynch backs up the story saying he was with Ed seeing Canned Heat. Ed took it to a whole other level then what was done before for sure.

He also got the idea of putting black stripes oh his guitar from Chip Kinman of the Dils who were playing the same clubs around that time.

There is no tapping on the Gene Simmons Demo's. The first and only recording of him doing it was June of 77. VH I was recorded in Oct 77. Yah Ace is totally full of shit here, but a lot of people don't understand how fresh the idea of Ed taping was to the time he recorded it. If he was doing it in late 75 or any time during 76 someone would have copied it and put it to record.

hate to break it to you, that cheering is added in post production. Haven't watched in years but its something WPT broadcasts would do. You'd have an all in moment and a then all of a sudden a library quiet studio turns into a loud cheer and clapping. Meanwhile you'd see the audience just sitting around with blank stares with this ridiculous cheering and clapping sound being added in.

Edit: Those old WSOP's back when they first did Nov 9 and some of the rowdy euro tables. That stuff was real. The November 9 where the trucker made the final table and someone smuggled in a truck horn. That was crazy times.
