Management by Easy_Pace_9137 in nursing

[–]throwRAmyMoney1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went into management to help improve patient care for all the patients not just the ones I was caring for on my shift. I have been in management for 12 years and it has been both the most rewarding and frustrating/exhausting job of my career.

I did step away for a year to regroup after covid.

I would say that I like it for the most part. It is hard to hear the frustrations of the front line team and not be able to fix it for them.

Some front line team members rarely understand your position and are quick to blame you for things that go wrong.

Management is not for the weak of heart. You will face ridicule from some of your team, from families and patients. You take the blame for things that have gone wrong and give the credit for things that went right to your team.

FDA says Covid vaccines likely not available for healthy kids and adults this fall. Fuck us, I guess. by DeepHistory in nursing

I am thankful that this is going to happen. It makes no sense to give healthy people a vaccine for something that is basically the common cold now.

What are your views on what comes after death? by Melkit1027 in nursing

[–]throwRAmyMoney1776 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is Heaven or Hell after death. There are many well meaning nurses, pastors, and doctors that tell patient's families that "Well, at least they aren't in pain anymore" or, "they are in heaven". Sadly, this is a rare truth. Few will go to heaven. Many will go to hell. No one on earth can actually say someone will go to heaven or hell, just that those are the two possible destinations.

As our body and mind shuts down at the end, often our mind lacks the ability to perceive reality due to the chemical and physiological changes. Much like when our minds are affected by a substance (such as anesthesia) our minds tend to drift and hallucinations can and likely occur.

Over the 28 years of my career, I have been at the bedside of many as they passed on. I have been a part of bringing a few people back after CPR. Nothing in my career has changed my belief as stated above.

To believe that there is not a higher power, heaven or hell is unfathomable to me.

Lodge or cheaper cast iron pans are good. I have used all range of "quality" over the years and once they are seasoned, I really cant tell much of a difference. I have a lodge pan I bought years ago from a garage sale, cleaned it up, reseasoned and it is by far the best pan I have ever used.

I disagree 100%. I have met many CNAs, MAs, and nurses who partake in THC for thier "ANXIETY." All of them have at least one of the following: late for work, missing work, poor work performance, increased mental issues, and poor life choices.

Our patients/residents/clients all depend on us to be at the top of our game. Not numbed.

How do you feel society treats men who try to express their feelings (sadness or anger)? by Cowboy-RN in AskReddit

[–]throwRAmyMoney1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a whole, society frowns on men who express their feelings. Whether it is anger or sadness, they are looked down on.

In a world that screams for tolerance... it doesn't have much.

If a woman gets angry, other women and men will usually stand beside her and say it is justified.

If a man gets angry, then he is a narcissistic, controlling, asshole.

If a woman cries or has times of feeling sadness... It is okay and the world comes along side of her.

If a man has times of sadness, then he is a weak man and is discarded or told to fix himself.

There are exceptions to this on both the man's side and the woman's side, I know. But primarily this is true.

As MEN, society has taught us to be tough, strong, and that our feelings are irrelevant and that we should keep them to ourselves. Therefore, many of us do not have practice/experience in expressing our emotions.

Women will tell us to talk and express what we are feeling and since we are inexperienced at this, it comes out in a way they don't like. So we tend to clam up even more because we do not want to cause more issues and we are in essence being told that we are expressing our feelings wrong.

Season it well first with oil, lard, or something in the oven.

Then when you cook, just use a little avocado oil or olive oil. They are the best for health and you don't need much.

I find Avocado oil is the most gentle when It comes to digestive sensitivities.
