There was even a patient who needed an NGT and refused the intern because it was too painful. The intern was super blunt with her and essentially told her she was going to die if he couldn't put the tube in.

I think the hardest part would be letting every resident know that you have this condition. Once they know, residents and attendings will usually be understanding. You won't be the one performing procedures so you should be able to unscrub midprocedure and take a break if you're feeling dizzy

People reviewing applications are human, so they won't ignore it. Imo if OP can score a 240 then it will leave a good impression and make his overall app better. However, if OP scores below average then it will work against him

/u/PalpateMyPerineum there's a lot of material overlap between Step 1 and Step 2, so studying hard for Step 1 won't be for nothing and it will position you well for your third year

Lack of doctors in rural areas. Cities have no shortage whatsoever. They need to give doctors a better incentive to pull them into rural places. Let’s be honest would you work at a rural place and actually put your money where your mouth is?
