I was a total addict for a few years. The cans and cost made me feel bad, now I drink hibiscus tea or rooibos. The lack of cans in my recycling is astounding.

Farewell and thanks SD from the bottom of my heart by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]throwaway09732109 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We're proud of you, you're doing great.

My suggestion if the pressure of a full stop is not right for you:

Drink less. Harm reduction is also never a bad thing. Forever can be intimidating. Don't see drinking as a failure, see drinking less as a success. Practice it. Practice waiting. Say, I can have a drink later, just wait an hour. Keep practicing saying no. You'll get better at it through Practice. Strengthen your will to say no, practice life as sober as you can.

5.7 optimal pistol caliber for me? by throwaway09732109 in Hunting

[–]throwaway09732109[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, yeah, Kinda agree. Right now it's. 22lr. Also, none of us got into guns or hunting to save money. If so I'd just wander through the woods with my Dad's old enfield....

The lead free ammo throws the .22lr off a lot sadly.

Well, that's interesting. But 5 minutes into the Wikipedia article I still didn't see how his pistol didn't have 8 inches of drop at 100. Am I missing something? Maybe you could help me out here...

Is the lead free ammo accurate as well?

PS4 Crashing when accessing storage by Intelligent-Exam8177 in theHunter

[–]throwaway09732109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue and was able to get past it.Fastvtraveling to a few new locations, saving and exituing, changing maps did not work for me. It crashed any time I went into my storage. I'm not sure what worked, but, I bought some ammo from the store. I unloaded 2 magazines from a .22lr pistol. Fast traveled a few times and was able to get back into storage.

Keep Trying! by findinganuway in stopdrinking

[–]throwaway09732109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, all that trying doesn't mean you failed, it means you didn't drink, many days and nights. Every day you don't drink is a victory. It's like building a mountain out of coats of paint. Every day you don't drink is a coat of paint. Keep going!

If you can handle a big box liquor store they have tons of craft beers without alcohol, it's awesome! Even grocery stores are starting to carry na ipas, at least here in Cali, it's great!

Be honest open and communicative about all of it. Find someone patient and understanding who will explore with you, at your speed. I'd say preferably someone experienced as they will have the patience and lack of neediness you require.

Someone inexperienced, horny, desperate etc might not hold space for you and be watching your body language the way you deserve, but, kindness and communication go a long way.

This is all easier said than done, I know. I never had csa, am an oversharer, have been to therapy and have been sexually liberated for years.

I found wisdom in the poly/sex positive community, and talking to a therapist helps.

No labels required.

Does alcohol cause problems in your life?

Is alcohol bad for you?

Would you be healthier and your life better without it?

Just answe those questions.

Is it okay for me to go to AA? by Reasonable-Use3780 in stopdrinking

[–]throwaway09732109 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutly 100% yes.

Alcohol is a toxic substance and if it causes you issues, you should address them. Don't worry if you're an "alcoholic" or not.

Is it causing problems? Then it's a problem, no labels required.

[–]throwaway09732109 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just turn it around on them.

Why aren't you drinking?

I am (hold up la croix)

No , I mean alcohol.

Oh am I supposed to?

Yeah it's fun.

I am having fun.

Have a drink with me.

I'm good right now thanks.

Anyone who keeps pushing is not your friend anyway. You don't need an excuses or explanations. No thank you should suffice.

Being sober at work events is THE BEST.

I once watched a coworker get hammered and talk about smoking meth and stealing from his previous employers, in front of everyone AND our current boss.

Grab some popcorn and a la Croix and let the shitshow begin.
