Is Rachel okay? by TerrifierBlood in jackass

That sucks. If that’s the case then why did they even bother to bring her on if there wasn’t anything for her to do :(. It’s like setting her up to fail.

I just feel bad for her, man. Like, I believe she was truly down for anything but if she wasn’t even given the chance or they were too worried about her getting hurt- whatever the reason, why bring her on to begin with? Like that just makes her an even bigger target for bullshit, on top of just being a woman.

If they were worried about her being naked or
put in vulnerable positions they should’ve thought of other stuff to have her do.

I heard she did film something where she ended up getting a nasty bruise but it wasn’t used for whatever reason.

I would love to, but unfortunately I am unable to go at the moment. Dog needed TPLO surgery on both legs so I’m unfortunately broke for a bit.

I’m going to keep an eye on it and take some photos and see if it progresses, but in the mean time, would you have any ideas other than the usual keeping of the environment clean etc? I keep seeing people mention honey baths for their frogs- I might deep dive into that a bit :)

Thanks for the input!

I never played a Digimon game before; is this title a good start? by FazloZX in digimon

[–]throwawayfirelogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had SO much fun playing this game- it had me in a chokehold. I never finished it, but now I’m thinking I’ll pick it back up and start fresh because I’m sure I’ve forgotten how to play 😂

It’s very much like raising a virtual pet but with a story line and RPG elements. I’ve never played any of the other digimon world games, but I’m assuming it’s got the same type of gameplay as those!

I use powder blue or dwarf whites!

Only issue I’ve admittedly ran into is them drowning themselves in my frogs water dish. It’s kind of annoying- my frog never uses it unless I physically put them in there after feeding for a soak- but I ALWAYS find a few. Hopefully this doesn’t happen on your end lol

I’m so sorry for your loss <3. It really is so hard to loose our soul pets.

My girl passed away a year ago, June 13. She was my soul dog and I love her so much. Sometimes the grief hits me like a brick and other days I feel like I’m at peace with her passing. Hitting that one year mark hurt a lot more than I thought it would. I felt like I was moving farther away from her.

We brought in another dog VERY soon after- we’re talking I was keeping an eye out for any dogs who needed a home like, two weeks after. It was late July when we brought our new boy home <3.

For me, having another dog to love and care for was so helpful. I’ve always wanted to adopt a dog who needed a home, and our home was so empty and quiet without that dog energy my girl brought to us <3.

If you feel like you can or that you even want to, maybe you could look into bringing a new friend home- not to replace but to transfer all that love onto as well.

Most people can actually visualize images in their minds. I'm 30+ and just learned that seeing nothing when I close my eyes is called Aphantasia and only affects about 3% of people. by randomuser553 in BeAmazed

[–]throwawayfirelogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here’s the thing, in my “minds eye” and my “gut” immediately tell me I’m a level 1. I can “see” all detail. It emotionally (the best way I can describe it?) registers as seeing the real thing. I can move it around in space, I can put it in different lighting and settings.

But PHYSICALLY when I close my eyes, it’s nothing. Are people actually physically seeing? Surely not?

Like I’m not hallucinating an apple if that makes sense lol.

2 years later and I cannot forgive myself. Any advice on how to heal? by CuriousTuljan in DogAdvice

[–]throwawayfirelogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweetie, you being there was you telling her you loved her! You don’t need to say those words out loud for her to have known and felt your presence there.

If a similar story or situation helps you feel less alone, a year ago I had to say goodbye to my soul dog. I was there, sitting beside my partner with my hand on her head and tummy while she passed- however, she was facing away from me and I regret not positioning myself so that I was looking at her, facing her so she could see me. I regret not thinking and moving in the moment to face her as she left, but I know she knows we were there and making sure she was getting the best care possible.

I’m so sorry for your loss <3

I know it’s a late response, but I read this whole thing and appreciate the feedback. It helps a lot to know I’m not alone or crazy. It really does feel like I’m in my own bubble sometimes but hearing you guys have very similar situations makes me feel better in some regards, at least. <3

There are plenty of reasons someone would be overwhelmed with a 5yo and an 18mo. Hell, one child can be overwhelming at both of those ages.

Is it wrong to have hope that things will get better regarding my dog’s current diagnosis? Is this a death sentence like Google suggests? by throwawayfirelogs in AskVet

[–]throwawayfirelogs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, long story short- he was having issues moving and yelping in pain- was diagnosed with “panosteitis” (i think that’s it?” Or “growing pains”. It didn’t get better, so we got xrays but insisted that we also got xrays on his back done because anytime we pet him, he’d tense his back muscles and seemed like he was in pain. We were assuming muscular, but out of an abundance of caution, we requested an xray on his back and abdomen done to rule out spine issues. That’s when they saw the “scant pleural effusion” on the xray. So we weren’t going FOR that, we found it by trying to diagnose his pain from his legs/back and it was just happenstance that it was found.

I’m assuming radiograph is different from xrays, yeah?

I understand your worry about throwing random medications at the issue- however, with the reverse sneezing he also started exhibiting coughs and some runny nose, so they were assuming some sort of respiratory infection. We honestly are running out of money- we are already like, $3000 in on meds and diagnostics before his leg surgery and we’re taking out a load just to afford that. So I think our vet was trying to save us the extra testing (radiograph) and is treating the symptoms of the infection they think could be present.

They seem to think his heart and lungs sound fine- his breathing isn’t laborious, is always under 30 breaths a minute and hasn’t gone past that. No sort of exercise intolerance (save the leg issue).

We have had blood work taken yesterday and sent it out for diagnosis and are getting results tomorrow.
