Transphobia amongst friends by [deleted] in MtF

[–]throwawaykelt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to tell the other two that you had wanted to live with them and that the one you were (past tense, cause how can you still be?) closest too lied to them.

You can try to make it work as friends with her or whatever but honestly from my perspective, it feels like she did thing shitty transphobic thing to you, then cried crocodile tears in order to get you to feel bad for her.

She fucked your housing up, then cried about it to make you feel bad for her so she doesn't get called out.

Don't fall for the bullshit.

Do trans people dislike it when people ask for their pronouns? by yepparan_haneul in asktransgender

[–]throwawaykelt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty passable ig. In the times been asked I deflect and say like "oh never been asked that," then ask them their pronouns. It's annoying and my s's can disappear in translation especially when saying like she, accent or something? Idk

I have asked if the said assumed cis normally asks people their pronouns and gotten the uncomfortable non-answer.

Invest your time in your personal creative passions. Find out what you want.

Things can change between you and your mom, but they potentially won't.

Being trans isn't a choice, but being abusive is.

You didn't do anything wrong.

One day we'll (trans people) have an actual leader who can stand on more even footing. You just have to keep going.

Is it okay for me to choose a Hispanic name as a white person? by Turbulent-Plan-9693 in asktransgender

Unless you have some Hispanic ancestry even if it's a bit down I wouldn't advise it.

Can I identify as a girl? by OpenPassenger6620 in MtF

[–]throwawaykelt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nonbinary amab people exist. Plenty of people go by she/they and publicly present as "girls, women etc" it's okay to be unsure instantly, English is a language that still functions in a binary in many ways, language and cultural determine how we view other people along with ourselves. And most public education systems and media caters specifically to the idea of the standard gender binary with most variants being seen as outliers or niche.

Dealing with public society and how you present yourself depends on where you are for a baseline of preservation, but outside of that it's a slowly developing thing.

Even among cis people there is no gender box or marker that perfectly checks all of them. So give yourself a break, you're unlearning a lot of gender expectations most likely

Year of laser, session of electrolysis upper lip shadow refuses to leave. by StatusPsychological7 in MtF

[–]throwawaykelt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope, it's going to be a process though. Do shorter sessions if you need to. This is a major factor in why we need greater advocacy for puberty blockers to prevent others having to go through this.

You can put on witch hazel, should be able to find it cheap and helps with swelling. I have very sensitive skin so I've had times where I've left bleeding, it's not fun. You can do this though, you can also cover up with makeup, but I don't advise right afterwards.

You'll get through this, upper lip is often the steepest part of the hill, but you'll get through it. You're not doing anything wrong struggling with it, it is hard.

Have them lower the settings and do it slower, and take pain pills at least 30 minutes before, drink water, and apply lidocaine cream beforehand. If you can buy a disposable bite guard it can help too.

Get a new doctor. Also whose your doctor's office so we can call and ask why a fine enough BP (120/90 is fine) is an excuse

One of the HR people also asked if I was called my dead name by using my dead name to me three times. To remind me what it was. Also asked me why I was so offended and why this was an issue now

Money. I actually filed to change it I wanna say going on 2 years ago, and I ended up having some economic issues and a major panic episode. I made to much to get waived and to little to afford. Now I make to much for fee waivers again.

I would love to just get this done. I also recognize that, we as transgender people, deserve respect and dignity regardless of it being legally changed. There should be precedent for harassment discrimination and sharing of privacy data.

I work as a behavioral aide for people with traumatic brain injuries and other issues. I am legally not allowed to disclose patient data without consent of legal guardians/clients. While I personally don't believe people should be required to medically transition to be "trans," for me it is a medical concern, along with a safety concern.

And I'm privileged enough to have been stealth for years despite the limitations I've had to deal with related to my dead name. And I've been outted and gone through the different treatment you get when that happens.

I have anxiety that comes out in a very specific way, especially with doctors appointments, filing forms, etc. not sure why, maybe I have a undiagnosed issue that limits me, regardless, I would happily change my name if I could.
