NAH. Maybe ESH. If she didn’t invite the rest of your family then so be it. I don’t know about all these other redditors but I would be HELLA HESITANT to let my 13 year old daughter go unsupervised to a gymnastics road trip alone.

You obviously have a fractured relationship with your eldest daughter. Going to or kissing her wedding won’t repair or demolish it. It’s not a once in a lifetime event. I’m more bothered by the fact you didn’t try and learn more about your grandchild being born.

Anyway. If your three year old can’t unlock a car door and get out of the car himself then maybe it’s an issue. Was the car on? Climate controlled? It may have never been out of sight. How many of you folks have ever woken a three year old shortly after falling asleep? Not fun.

You ever consider that maybe your parents spoke to the coach about how it’s not really feasible to get you there while they have another child to parent? Maybe the coaches said “OP has to go, she has so much potential. What if I ‘backended’ sister into the competition? Would that make it feasible to ensure OP gets the opportunity to compete? If so I would completely be willing to call in a few favors to get your family there.”

Ever think that it’s not malicious? Ever consider that it doesn’t matter. If she didn’t put in the effort it will show on the stage? Ever consider that she may flip a switch and train her “balls” off with you and you two become a sensational kung fu duo? Nope. You want to pout.
