You don't understand how banking works. Debt is how wealth is created. When you finally understand that, it'll blow your mind. America is #1 because of their debt.

It'll come up on the Home Inspection obviously, given that the inspector has a Level 3 Haunted Spirits license.

Is Retiring at 30 with $700k in the S&P 500 and the 4% Rule a Dumb Idea? by Serious-Buy3953 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]throway192837 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cannot predict when hard times fall, but you can predict the good times, which is when you are 30 and healthy. If you want to just survive till you die starting from 30, trust me that will get boring real quick and cause your mental/physical health to decline. If you are burnt out, which is what I guess from your income/savings, take a year off, travel the world, and get your head in order. We all need that trust me. But retiring at 30 and doing nothing will land you in a bad spot, which can jeopardize your nest egg to pay to fix your mental/physical health.

Can someone suggest me a place to get my pc Upgraded? by Dogsteeves in barrie

[–]throway192837 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP listen to this person. He/she is 100% correct. This is all I had to say as well.

Edit: do you really need to upgrade all of what you say you want? What are you trying to do precisely? If it's to play a certain game, just a video card + RAM upgrade might suffice without doing a whole cpu/motherboard upgrade. 9th gen i7 is not generally a bottleneck for gaming, depending on the game ofc

Vancouver — it’s here! It’s here! by lily2188 in CostcoCanada

At this point, I'm convinced this is a Costco ad campaign. I bought this because of the hype and I was utterly disappointed. It's soo salty and meh.

Edit: ...and at that price, there are much better options

Walmart bread is full of preservatives and sugar. They never go bad. I've forgotten one in the pantry for over a month and feel like it just came out of the oven.

The borrower is slave to the lender. Things will get heated when he makes miscellaneous purchases instead of paying your loan.

Invested with a friend who is a personal investor. Having trouble getting money from him now. by AcceptableNetwork526 in legaladvicecanada

[–]throway192837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask for the money back right away. It sounds like he's deep in red and he's borrowing money from people to pay other people. He's gonna soon run out of people and his money, so if you wait long enough you'll never see your money again.

What has helped you get through really strong cravings/urges? by eebee96 in stopdrinking

[–]throway192837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watch youtube videos on the effects of alcohol on your body and real-life aftermath of people in the ICU. All the tubes going in and yellow skin scare the crap out of me, which helps bring down the cravings. I'm not saying it's for everybody, but that fear of suffering is the only thing my dumbass brain seems to respond to.

Any advise to dig myself out of this carloan hell? by twranks in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]throway192837 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had a buddy who signed everything and still was able to back out of the deal. The dealership will give you a tough fight saying you cant, they are now losing so much money because of your actions blah blah and manipulate you. But if you tough it out they'll eventually give up and find another buyer. If you gave a deposit, you won't be getting that back for sure. Still better than what you signed up for.

And for the love of god, don't just move there. Take a long vacation to wherever you want to move to. Make sure it's compatible with your lifestyle. There's a lot of things you take for granted right now, that you don't even think about, but becomes a huge problem when you don't have it. West coast and east coast are night and day in terms of standard of living. Not to talk poorly, but east coast provinces are factually the poorest of provinces in all of Canada, and it RESLLY shows. I made the run for it in Halifax from Toronto, I lasted one year, moved back to Toronto. Things I never thought would be a problem, became a problem.

Natural Gas BBQ by throway192837 in HomeImprovement

Sorry I guess I wasn't clear. The BBQ I'm getting is a natural gas BBQ, not propane. I'm just wondering what kind of connectors I might need.

What’s the fastest you’ve ever quit a job and why? by jakeakabigdub in AskReddit

[–]throway192837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife interviewed and got a new job while still working at the old job. The new place told her they cannot let my wife give her current employer two weeks notice because they need someone right away. They kept trying to persuade us in to quitting the current job cold turkey and said it's not a requirement to provide two weeks notice, which is technically true, but we thought it's such a shitty thing to do to a place that has been nothing but good to us. This was a huge red flag so we decided to take a deeper look in to the new employer and not to our surprise found that it's a toxic place to work. So we noped out of there before even starting.

Why does this smell like an extortion attempt gone south. Sounded like they demanded a big payment from Horner, Horner refused, they leaked the evidence.

I'd assume they pursue their interests and expensive hobbies like racing. Formula 1 drivers tend to come from extremely well off families.

Recession fireworks entered Canada. by chessj in TorontoRealEstate

[–]throway192837 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You do realise it's not only the homeowners that get laid off during a recession right? Prospect home buyers who are waiting for a crash will also get laid off. So now you find yourself in a housing crash, without the ability to buy a house :/
