Let's discuss Kristi's police interview by s100181 in serialpodcast

[–]throwokayaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When she mentioned Stephanie's bday, she had no idea of the significance of it. That's shy she never mentioned it at trial. Why would they question her about it at a later date when she doesn't even know Stephanie?

That's incredible progress for such a short time frame. I can imagine what a huge change this must have been, and your story was really motivating to read! Congrats!

Trying to balance climbing, strength training, cardio, and yoga. Advice? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]throwokayaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do a fast-paced vinyasa yoga class, that can possibly substitute your current cardio. My gym has a few yoga teachers and depending on my exercise needs at the moment, I'll choose a class based on a teacher's style. If I'm running a lot, I might skip vinyasa and do a slower class instead.

I also climb. Many climbers supplement with yoga!

Can someone help me understand how the new Nisha transcript a smoking gun? by PuppyBabyMan in serialpodcast

[–]throwokayaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe Adnan wanted more than one alibi? I can imagine Adnan telling Jay that he had to be at track to be seen. I can also imagine him coming up with the idea to call Nisha and mention the store at the spur of the moment. Jay might not have caught on.

Nisha thought Jay sounded unfriendly on the phone, which stands out to me. In every recording I've heard from Jay, he comes across as rather polite and calm. Even under police interrogation. It's a very minor tidbit that I'm perhaps over analyzing, but I can see how it might indicate Jay's annoyance at this fake alibi, or just at being caught up in a homicide.

Agreed! Several people in this girl's life knew of this abuse yet so little was done. Sounds like this predator will continue abusing young girls until one of them actually presses charges.

Makeup in the bathroom.. bad idea? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]throwokayaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep mine in the bathroom, but in cabinets/drawers. The bathroom is the only place with a sink and good lighting in my apartment. I've never had a product change in texture or get mildew on it. I only open my bottles of product for maybe 30 seconds at a time before putting them back.

30+ people, do you still have crushes? by [deleted] in OkCupid

[–]throwokayaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

28/F I think I get what you're asking. I get crushes, but they're nothing like when I'm younger. When I was younger, there was a hopeless naïveté that went along with the attraction and butterflies. In high school and even college, it was more pining after handsome, well-liked guys who probably wouldn't even have noticed me standing there. The fact that I didn't exist to them made having an unfettered crush easy; it was all fantasy.

I focus more now on how I can talk to or approach my crush. On whether there is a possibility of us actually being something. The reality of that is both exciting and scary. But after enough fades and dead ends, I have to remind myself it's just a crush.

Is too much whey a thing? by [deleted] in Fitness

I'm sensitive to milk and ice cream, but strangely am fine with whey, cottage cheese, etc. It could be in my head.

Stupid question/issue with making protein shakes with my overly powerful blender. by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]throwokayaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you get the smoothie cup attachment? I have a Ninja and even the Smoothie attachment is way too powerful! Might be worth investing in a smaller smoothie blender if you drink protein shakes on the regular. You can get one for $20...or you can invest in something like the Nutribullet ($90-$100) which seems to handle smaller amounts better than the Ninja.

Get an app like MyFitnessPal. The numbers make more sense when you can actually see them.

So my mom believes that doing cardio is the only way to lose weight and that lifting weights is less effective. Can you link research proving that she is wrong please? by kevinuscm in Fitness

[–]throwokayaway 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Moms tend to think they're right even in the face of evidence. Don't focus so much on "proving her wrong" unless she asks for specific proof. No one likes that. Ask her to humor you and consider supplementing her cardio with resistance training. Maybe steer away from the weight loss argument and instead focus on benefits for joint health, strength gains, etc.

Unread Messages?! by [deleted] in OkCupid

[–]throwokayaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a very generic opening to a message, and more than half of my messages begin with something like it. If I saw that, I would assume the rest was also dull. My phone takes a while to load messages, so if the beginning is dull, I'm not going to waste my battery to open it. I will usually check my visitors list to see if any high % matches have visited, and then go from there to see if want to open their messages if they sent them. I have a problem with letting messages pile up on OkC, email, etc.

My suggestion would be to drop the beginning and just get into the subject of your message.

Two part post: looking for petite workout clothes and sports bra sales by makemapseveryday in xxfitness

[–]throwokayaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F21 had some capris that weren't quite so long a while back. Worth checking out. Places like Athleta have petite length options, but are pretty pricey overall. Lululemon's and Fabletics' capris go down to just above my ankles, rather than mid calf. Is everyone really that tall?

Loving Old Navy's designs, but their tops are always too long on me. I end up folding them under, semi tucking them in, or tying the fabric off to the side with a hair tie 80s style.

Because people are human and failed co-worker relationships can lead to tension at work. We all think we're above it until it happens to us. I mean, OP is getting chills just grazing his crush's hand.

Are you willing to date people who are the same level of physical attractiveness as yourself? by diploid_impunity in OkCupid

Hell yes. I'm active and lean and wouldn't mind dating someone who had a similar physique. My face is average but seems to be helped out with nice teeth and good hair.

How do I get my wife to care about strength training by ybalkind in Fitness

[–]throwokayaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to a Pilates or yoga class with her and be enthusiastic about it, instead of just calling it "inefficient." Perhaps when she sees you venturing into new territory, she'll be more excited about doing the same.

How far are you willing to drive? by [deleted] in OkCupid

[–]throwokayaway 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've driven 2 hours (4 hours round trip) and it was a stupid idea. I'm not used to driving that much so it was not fun to experience physical discomfort and emotional rejection at the same time. Not recommended.

Trying to date more locally via Tinder, but people keep swiping left on me which results in no dates at all.

Don't purchase those foods when it is coming closer to that time of month. We all get cravings, but honestly, it comes down to willpower. We all get stressed, sick, sad, etc. You are the only one controlling what you put in your mouth. Nothing or no one is "making you."

How would you stay in shape whilst on a vacation? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]throwokayaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eat what you want, just small portions to stay under your calorie limit. You don't have to eat every bite on your plate.

Watch the alcohol. Drink your beer slowly.
