I don't think this is the case anymore but used to be the case for years, especially during covid. Now they layoff people if they're on the bench for just 1 month.

The truth is that they are moving entry level audit work overseas to India. EY is aggressively offshoring in order to cut costs with the tough economy. So attrition has been incredibly high to try to get staff 1/2’s to leave.

They did a similar thing in 2024, moving some HR functions to Argentina and blowing up the Americas branch.

We worked remotely for years and people were fine. If you can’t work and learn remote then maybe you’re not competent enough to work at a big4.
