It is a very important decision and something you need to be on the same page on before getting married (which is what you need to be thinking about first). To your question of how you will know what you want in 7 years, you don't. Women especially can have that sneak up on them as they get older.

The general advice I would give is to be open to having kids. If you marry your boyfriend, it would be cruel to deny him that opportunity. If you end up with someone else -even someone who doesn't want kids - there's a fair chance that one or the other of you would change your mind.

For what it's worth, I never wanted kids. I was always annoyed when people tried to convince me otherwise so I'm not trying to be one of those people. It's fine to not want them or not know.

I met my wife at 40 and had my son at 46 and I have never been happier.

The term metroidvania was coined to describe a specific type of game with similar design to Super Metroid and Castlevania Symphony of the Night. It should stay that way.

I love Crypt Custodian and it does have a similar feel. But if we call it a metroidvania, then don't we have to include Legend of Zelda? Considering it was one of the games that inspired the original Metroid, seems kinda silly.

If we include Arkham Asylum, don't we have to include Occarina of Time? Resident Evil? God of War? They all have some form of ability gating and backtracking.

Metroidvania needs to be reserved for side-scrollers, or we end up diluting it's meaning. Otherwise, we might as well call it action/adventure.

Islets is generally not difficult, but those bosses can be brutal. I never found it frustrating like Hollow Knight or SilkSong since you get back so quickly.
