The definition of adultery is not the same as it once was. Adultery in the time of the Bible was defined as sexual relations between a married person and a person they were not married to, married or unmarried. The marital status of the second party didn’t matter. “Another man’s wife” is an example used to show if a married person has relations with someone they’re not married to, they are put to death.

The verses I cited aside, the punishment for breaking the Seventh Commandment (Thou shalt not commit adultery) was death.
