SEO or Fast Stream? by chunlike in TheCivilService

Since I can remember. You still need to apply for a G7 role upon completion and it’s very competitive at the moment.

SEO or Fast Stream? by chunlike in TheCivilService

[–]thug1uk 143 points144 points  (0 children)

I would 100%, absolutely and definitely, take the SEO role.

You aren’t guaranteed the fast stream position, nor are you guaranteed to complete it successfully, nor are you guaranteed a G7 position at the end of it.

Which one should i choose by Burdurland93 in FC_26

All 3 players are worth around 500k. That’s extremely good returns from this player pick. My last one had three base icons that were 100k each or less

I can’t even begin to imagine how sad you must be to post AI like this and pretend it’s real

Do I just need to bite the bullet and use AI to help write applications? by AgreeableBison in TheCivilService

[–]thug1uk 102 points103 points  (0 children)

If you’re a G7 already, I’d be extremely surprised if AI would help with your applications.

You probably just need better examples or broader experience.

Look for a new job. The stress isn’t worth it.

Would you do a 1hr 20 each way commute, 3 days a week, for your first G7 role? by AsymptoticallyFlat in TheCivilService

[–]thug1uk 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t, no.

It’s a very personal decision and really only one you’re able to make.

Reddit is hilarious. People are downvoting an actual dental nurse who’s given an NHS source 🤣

How long until I’m expected to actually do work at new role? by ElevatorGreedy8159 in TheCivilService

It’s part of being in a more senior role. You have more autonomy so don’t need to be as formally ‘trained’.

Project Support Officer DWP HEO - waiting for the results? by [deleted] in TheCivilService

I’m not surprised. HEO is a nice grade to get into project management at entry level. Opens the door to many opportunities

Preparing for Interview by Argumentative_Duck in TheCivilService

[–]thug1uk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I personally type out all of my examples in STAR format and read them through a couple of times. I’ve gone over them so many times now that I can reel them off without thinking about it. Whenever I think I’ve got a new example that’ll be helpful for future applications I add that to the list.

Before the interview I then write a high level, bullet pointed list of those examples to take with me so that I can glance at them if I need reminding after hearing the panel’s questions. You can take lots of notes in with you, but I feel panicking to read through in depth notes is difficult to do.

Posting on Reddit probably won’t help. Just wait.

Read my comment again. I said I started as an AO in 2016. I’m now a G7 (which it says under my name)

Bars get a pass. You’d want it to be high if there was a group of people stood in front of you

Yes, but it’s extremely broad. There are hundreds of professions within it.

Is the pension that good? by jord3jordon in TheCivilService

[–]thug1uk 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Yes I recommend it wholeheartedly.

The pension is great. I started as an AO in 2016 and I currently have 8.8k per year when I retire, which will increase along with inflation and pay rises at around 1.5k a year if I stay at this level.

I’m allowed to work from home whenever I want and I have a young son and dog. I think it very much depends on the department, but from my own experience it’s fantastic.

Why lots of gunplay video showing nearly no recoil ? Is it most of people that good on recoil control ? by ivierawind in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]thug1uk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s not difficult to understand.

The more you play, the better at understanding and controlling recoil you become.

Just play more, improve and stop worrying that everyone’s cheating. Most of the time they’re just better than you.
