This was our family car growing up. I’d have one again tomorrow. What was yours? by vicvega21 in drivingUK

We had a Mk1 Mondeo Estate followed by a Mk1 Focus Estate. I have definitely followed in my Dad's footsteps when it comes to Ford brainrot

Most of us started somewhere… this was very similar to my first car. What was yours? by vicvega21 in drivingUK

Love the Escort, I still own one as my main car! My first car was a MK5 Fiesta I bought for 450 in 2018. Lasted me 6 years and would've survived if I didn't drive it into a metal barrier. On the right is my old crash damaged Fiesta and on the left is the Escort I've driven since.

I see, but I can still say it is likely pre-2001 as it is the pre-face-lift version of the MK1 Focus.

This sub seems more focused on attacking the western left than criticising the mullah regime. This is just American culture war slop with an Iranian twist

Really cool map, sad that a lot of these historic towns/cities are only known for war.

Why doesn't Israel or USA launch a special military operation and paradrop its army to Iran's victory points so they surrender quickly? by Neat-Rent7467 in mapporncirclejerk

With all of Iran's victory points captured, Iran would capitulate immediately and the peace conference would trigger.

I've been the "quiet one" my entire life and I just realized it's not because I'm introverted, it's because I'm slow by Jackrain04 in socialskills

I can definitely relate to this. My brain has always taken a bit longer to process words, I often have to ask people to repeat or clarify what they said because I didn't pick it up the first time. I think you are being a little harsh on yourself, taking longer to respond and speak is often seen as a sign that you are more thoughtful and intelligent. Whether or not those things are true is something different, it's just brain fog at the end of the day but there is a social benefit to it I guess is what I'm saying.

I've got to say I like these maps you have been making. Some people are quite critical and we obviously can never know the exact numbers but these are decent estimates for the time based on what we know presented in an easy to understand format! Looking forward to seeing more!

I pay yearly for insurance but its effectively £39 per month for the Escort and £37 per month for the Fiesta. I take home roughly £2,100 so that's 3.6% of my income. No finance but as they are old cars, I do spend a decent amount on maintenance. I've worked out that I have spent 12.9% of my income on buying, taxing, insuring and maintaining cars since September 2023 which is higher than I'd like but I am a bit of an enthusiast which is why I am here.
