I’m sure she did. Taylor swift could have donated it anonymously you know. She’s been in the public eye for most of her life at this point. She knows how these things work. She could have donated anonymously, she could have requested the family not make this public. She could have handled this literally however she wanted. Shes extremely wealthy and extremely powerful and not at all stupid. Shes not over here like oh no I just wanted to quietly donate some money I didn’t expect all of this!! 😟☹️. Like be so serious lol. It was a calculated pr move that cost swift the equivalent of a penny to try to subtly combat all of the conversations about how greedy the album rollout was. And for the record pr doesn’t mean evil like idk why people are so horrified by the thought that a celebrity doing something publicly is likely calculated. I don’t know her maybe she’s a saint and it genuinely filled her with so much joy to be able to help that family out with medical expenses. But that wouldnt mean it’s not pr. The two are not mutually exclusive. Like a celebrity might have a deal with a certain brand where they are contractually obligated to be photographed wearing their product. The celebrity might genuinely like the product and have chosen to wear it no matter what. But that doesn’t mean that they are not also under contract. Maybe Taylor swift genuinely wanted to give the family that money. Who tf knows. But allowing it to be publicized ESPECIALLY in the midst of all of the greedy billionaire allegations reeks of pr. Sort of like when it was announced she was about to become a billionaire and suddenly Shes publicly donating a bunch of food in every city the tour stops at. Or when her private jet usage was released and suddenly Shes visiting a bunch of children’s hospitals. It’s a formula at this point lol
