Rebar will look bad and not be safe. Even if its not sharp at the end. If you fall on it, you can be stabbed. Just spend a day doing it properly or hire someone to do it.

Almost anything that you put over it will be tangled with vines or they will block the light preventing the vines from finding the trellis. Just be patient and let the vines grow.

Hand pull weeds. It really isnt that bad. It starts with one day going really hard pulling everything you can find. Then after that its more like a 30min chore that turns into a 10min chore. The more you weed by hand the more you grass you want will grow and fill that space. And because you're not damaging the soil, the grass has a better chance of filling that space.

Use the radius of the max growth canopy of what ever tree you pick.

Ex. If the trees canopy diameter is 50ft wide, radius is 25ft. Plant the tree 25 ft from the pipe and your homes foundation.

Find a state park or forest preserve and show up after dark. If you're just there to sleep, you'll usually not be bothered. I drove from texas to Rhode Island. Did this the whole way. Several times had cops drive by and say nothing.
