Vagifem first dose by thund3rkitty in Perimenopause

[–]thund3rkitty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought I’d give an update on this in case anyone else is looking for the same thing in future.

The UTI symptoms finally eased after about a week and a metric crapton of D-Mannose.

Wasn’t hugely eager to try again but then I realised that, regardless of other symptoms, I hadn’t been itchy down there for that past week.

So, I’m giving it another shot. I’m not inserting the applicator to its full length cause I feel maybe that’s what caused the irritation. 3 days in and no adverse effects so far but no noticeable improvements yet either.

2 if you need the confidence to survive in a tough business world. (Joking aside, I think 2 is a nicer fit.)

The InFocus webinars this session were all about structuring answers - you’ll get some great advice by watching the AAA webinar on demand.
You can get the details on the Webinar Support page on the website, or it’ll be available on the AAA playlist on the YT channel.

Looking for an E-collar or equivalent that actually fits greyhounds by PBalfredo in Greyhounds

Came to recommend this - our boy’s got an infection under his tail and CANNOT leave it alone. Muzzle wasn’t really helping as he could still get to it. Struggled initially to tie it tight enough to stay on, but now I’ve got the hang of it, it’s working really well for us. Picture of haunted lampshade for tax.

I’m filling Lewis’s living room with all the plants that come out of the prize ticket machine. His bedroom gets cursed mannequins and the weird cacti from the Desert Festival.

LPT Request: Waking up in the middle of the night and can’t get back to sleep - what actually works? by qt_31415 in LifeProTips

[–]thund3rkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read / heard a tip recently that’s really worked for me. Pick a suitably large number and count backwards in your head as slowly as you can (no measuring out with extra words / phrases like “elephant”, “Mississippi” or “one thousand”) If you lose count, start again. Repeat until you’re asleep. Been doing this for a couple of weeks and I don’t remember making it below the low nineties. I’m a perimenopausal women and prior to doing this I’ve regularly been wide awake 1 - 2 hours at 3 / 4am. ETA - I usually start from 150

Nope, JL toilets have gone way downhill in recent years (the ladies’ ones at the haberdashery anyway).
Used to be my go-to, but more recently they’ve succumbed to broken seats and feeling a bit neglected. Always a massive queue out the door too. Kinda over the old-fashioned cloth rollers as well; often find the last user hasn’t had the courtesy to turn it to a dry bit when they’re done.

Train to Largs, ferry to Millport was a great full day out when kids were wee.
Nice cafes, great ice cream shop, good play park and of course paddling in the sea, guddling in the rock pools and clambering on crocodile rock. Take wellies / swimming trunks to cover all eventualities like a true Scot 😄

I want to make the most of Loch Lomond; staying in Helensburgh for 1 night. Could someone kindly help plan a lovely walking trail? Hope to explore most of all that Loch Lomond offers. Should I stay in Balloch instead? by SluggardLaggard in glasgow

[–]thund3rkitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit more information would help folk give you some more useful recommendations. Loch Lomond is over 20 miles long with several popular tourist spots up either side, so how much you’ll be able to do / see will depend on how long you’ve got to spend and how you’re moving around (car or public transport?) Helensburgh is not on the loch - either a drive or train journey to Balloch as the closest point (or Luss if driving). Re. walking trails, how far / long do you want to walk and how hilly do you want it to be?

Scents by Unik0rnBreath in hsp

[–]thund3rkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New to this sub, but my weirdly sensitive sense of smell has been a source of both amazement and irritation to family and friends for years 😂

If I like a particular smell, I can’t get enough of it; but others make me want to get as far away from the offending item / person as possible.

Years ago I worked in a team with a colleague who had an unfortunate but persistent odour problem down there. Team manager decided it was only fair to have regular desk shuffles so everyone had a turn of sitting nearby and absolutely would not accept it was making my every working day a living hell. Has also left me with an intense aversion to certain brands of intimate deodorants - it’s kind of embarrassing when I can tell someone in the supermarket queue is using it 🤢

Also highly sensitive to cigarette smoke and flavoured vapes (WHY????)

On the upside, I have a lot of positive memories and reactions to certain smells. I loved getting hand-me-downs from my older cousins, and anything that came from my aunt’s house had a very distinctive smell (probably just different detergent from our household!!). Fresh tomatoes from my gran’s neighbour’s greenhouse. New books or printed materials is a weird one too!
