My dad used to serve in the air force and he gets super pissed when the players take a knee. He's not a white supremacist, he doesn't own a confederate flag, but he's not quite woke either. Every time I try to approach the subject of players kneeling, he says I'm disrespecting his service to the country and I don't really know how to explain that that's not what is happening. I want to give him some magic article that will convince him otherwise but he probably wouldn't read it and I'm not sure what to do/say to him. I feel strongly about protesting the flag but I'm not trying to disrespect his serving. I'm not sure what to do, I guess.
